Yeah, they did. GO PISTONS :bwallace2:
-
Probably - but that's the thing with Shaq. He's fine when his team is winning, but when things go south, he wants out. See Orlando, the Lakers, the Heat. The other thing with Shaq is that he's never been known for his work ethic. When was the last time he played a full season? To me, this was another chance for him to play half a season. ABSOLUTELY CORRECT !! :bwallace2:
-
I think maybe that was the only way Shaq could get out?? :bwallace2:
-
Seems to me that was just a cover story anyway. Shaq was in disfavor with Riley and you know how Riley is; if you cross him, you are out.

You mean Superman?? Yeah, that young man is a beast. Just wait another 5 or 6 years, wow!! The cape was a great assett for his "throw down" dunk. :bwallace2:

Cool photo! The Pistons will definitely be in it, but it's a long season and time will tell. I'm a long time Laker fan, but I remember watching the Pistons back in the 50's when George Yardley was scoring like a maniac. Yard was the man in his day. One helluva a player. I can still remember when Pistons were the Fort Wayne Pistons....... dead giveaway on my age too.

Thanks to Jim making a post in my profile, it has come to my attention that I had almost no information there. I have just put in a little information and a personal photo so that my situation is a little more informative to you. Thanks all. :bwallace2: And the Pistons are still baaaaad, man, I mean bad. They have the second best record in the NBA right now today. And I BELIEVE they can win this year.

Try this for getting into shape; you have a waist of 35, you can't find pants with a waist 35, only 34 or 36. That is absurd, a 36 makes you look bloated and sloppy, a 34 squeezes you to death!! Its great to have all that money and get tailored clothes regardless of what shape you are in.

Hey Guys, Thanks loads. It is great to have reached this 72nd year of birthdays. With all the stones and medical roadblocks that have come my way, I am very proud to say that I am still endeavoring to produce the best music I possibly can. I really appreciate the support and well wishes you guys extended to me. Thanks again BruceW One caveat, I will continue to tout my Pistons as long as I can. :bwallace2:

Who knows, maybe this is exactly what the Suns need for their run. Someone to clog the middle on defense because they surely have offense. :bwallace2: Go Pistons
-
This all remains to be seen because Shaq has shown that if he is upset in any way, he will quit on the team; not so much his playing but moreso his attitude and demeanor which affects his playing. He is 36 not 23. He still thinks he can call up his "greatness" at a moments notice. I think management ruined the Heat with absurd trades. They could have had another championship or championship run with Shaq and Wade and the previous personnel that got traded away. :bwallace2: Go Pistons

Didn't know he was still around. Will look for site to hear his cd's. Cannot hear anything on his present website. Thanks :bwallace2:

Well then, Your team should win more games!

It is not the Wests' fault that the Eastern Conference is so weak. It seems quite premature to advocate abolishing the conference system. You would still have the same top teams in the playoffs and advancing to the final rounds so why even mention that. When the East was strong, there would probably be an advocaate for abolishing the conferences because the West is weak...... tit for tat. It would be better served if someone advocated getting rid of owners who will not improve their teams adequately. :bwallace2:

Don't worry, Brady is practicing, he is just not practicing while the press is there. Another Belichick slick ploy! Even if he wasn't practicing now, he will be before the game; he has to keep his timing. :bwallace2:

As soon as I saw the main characters, I figured I was going to hate whatever was coming. But after a few short words and realizing the parody of what was really happening, I loosened up and laughed my ass off.

Maybe they'll pay for a trip for Eli to go to Mexico with a buxom blond starlet..... I don't know what it is, but Eli does not have that "knowledgeable look", so I think that would distract him big time. Still looks like a cherub!! I would hate to see the Giants win this one. I don't see how the Giants can win this one, most teams have to wait til after their "initiation to the Bowl." I still feel Tiki quit on the Giants. He wasn't hurt bad and he had 2-3 really good years left. But then again, a couple good guys are now getting their turn. Go figure!

Not only brothers leading their teams to a super bowl, but back to back years, how about that?
-
Agreed, but Kwame is not the answer. Phil has to change his philosophy because rookies are better and better and stronger each year. (yes, they are still stupid). That is the one flaw in his philosophy, (does not want to play rookies, or sophmores for that matter). Phil needs to find playing time for Crittendon and more time for Ariza, especially Ariza; Mims will be back pretty soon I guess. Kwame will just have to do what he can do (and the Lakers play around that) because he will never be able to do what Phil wants him to do. Another way to relieve that pressure off Kwame is to give Walton a complete green light to shoot. Oh hell, I'm back! and trying to tell you guys how to have a Laker contender. I must be nuts, I'm a Piston man. :bwallace2:

I have to agree with a couple things you said here. But first, 8 vs 7 back to back games means nothing. The 70 wins item I did not know was such an item on the thread (Remember, I missed a lot with my surgery) and I agree that it is way too early to talk about that. I also agree that by the end of the season (especially without adequate substitutions) that the Three Amigos will be worn out. Sometimes I think Pierce is already tired. Kwame Brown has never been good but as for Chris Webber, he is through. Everyone thought he was a great addition to the Pistons and a championship was a lock but it didn't happen. Chris has no legs and if you give anyone the opportunity to pass a lot, they will learn so you may as well have someone younger who can hustle a lot more. Chris will slow the offense down so much that Duncan will give up his nickname of Turlehead and give it to Webber just for being so slow. The Lakers are moving in a direction of speed and Webber just does not fit. AND he still is afraid (or doesn't know how (I have heard that)) to take all his muscle into the middle and mix it up. :bwallace2:

Well I think we have to be careful about what we say that pertains only to our own egos and our own teams progress. We tend to make excuses, when our advasaries have a better record, and our own teams are not doing well. The whole gist of the NBA has been that the elite teams always beat the lowly teams which is what Boston is doing. So what is the problem. The premise is that you beat the low teams all the time and either split or win 2/3 of the games with the elite teams and you will possibly win the championship. So what is all the talk about soft schedules. If you win all your home and home games with the low teams, that accounts for approximately 40 to 42 wins right there. All the elite teams try to do this. Representatives of all the past champions tell us the same thing, even Magic and Bird. Of course my statement could end the thread (smile). But the banter is good anyway. :bwallace2:
-
All the schedules even out in the NBA. Every team plays home and home against the opposite conference; so many games against their division rivals, and so many games against the rest of their own conference. You still play the same number of games and the same number of games against your rivals as your rivals do. Having said that, maybe the beginning is easier than the middle or vice versa. Or the end is easier and the beginning harder, but it all evens out in the NBA. Someone else can give us the exact numbers for that formula. I don't have it. Now one argument WILL OBVIOUSLY BE "but the west is stronger, etc., etc., etc." You still play everybody at least twice.
-
There are several examples of great teams going down to defeat to a lesser team in the playoffs. The '83 49ers vs the Redskins, 2001 Yankees vs the D-Backs, '72 Lakers vs the Knicks....I could go on. The better team has lost many times in pro sports. I mean, the fact a medeocre Buffalo Bills team made it to all those Super Bowls speaks volumes on that point. Their AFC runners-up would have at least made those games competitive. Excuse me! Mediocre teams do not beat the "better" teams when the chips are down; it merely exposes that the "better" team was not as good as you think. During the regular season, a mediocre team can beat anyone on any given day but not when the heavy chips are down. Either someone misjudged the "mediocre" team or the "better" team is not as good as everyone thought. :-)
-
If they were the "better" team, then why didn't they win?? Why do losing teams always say that shit?? :bwallace2:

I wasn't surprised the Cowboys lost but I changed the channel immediately after seeing Jerry Jones sitting dumbfounded down on the field. What did I miss?? Was TO really crying?? Maybe I need to watch Sports Center this morning?? :bwallace2:
