  1. Bring on what? What you say is patently obvious to casual observers such as myself. I turn on an NBA game and I see a bunch of inflated egoists trying to get attention. It's really hard to get interested in the NBA. I'll watch the finals for sure (but only if the Pistons are in it!) STAY INTERESTED, the Pistons will BE in it. There would have to be major injuries to eliminate the Pistons before the Finals. However, the Eastern Conference Finals should also be interesting also. GO PISTONS
  2. Hey check out Dwayne Wade with his new "baldy" and his leg stockings..... He looked better with his hair. The stockings are absolutely ridiculous. They are supposed to be "support" things or something or other. If your legs are that bad, put some time on the bench and rest them. The league is beginning to look like shit. All these guys are trying to come up with something that will defy Stern's "dress code." I know this will be a provocative statement, but here it is..... CLAMP DOWN ON THOSE HIGH PRICED MF's and make them toe the line if they want to get paid PERIOD. When you break it down, it is a job and they have superiors to answer to. Make them learn what "class" is all about. Ok, bring it on....
  3. Exactly what makes you think those guys are going to look any better with the domes shining?????? Bruce
  4. Lakers down one.... nothing new there... Dallas up one...... PISTONS up one
  5. I only followed it on gamecast. What happened? Nice to see Kobe lose. I figure that the Clippers will get better as their series progresses. Question of the day: why is Miami so overrated? Guy Clips blew 10-16 point lead in 4th quarter and hung on. Actually, I blame Coach Dunleavy for some bad personnel moves during 4th quarter. But they won anyway. In Nets game, officials called a foul with 0.9 seconds left against the Nets. Game was tied and should have gone to overtime. Then it was anybody's game. AND it was a ticky tack foul. IMHO
  6. CLIPS up one in a game that they almost gave away. They will learn..... NETS down one in a game that was basically "interferred with" by the officials at the end. Should have gone to overtime and let the players decide.
  7. Actually, I agree with you BUT nobody does it that way; not the other bulletin boards, not the "enemies" I have in my email clan, not the pools I get in, not the NCAA or NIT pools. I don't know why, nobody is interested in making it really interesting by waiting for the survivors of each round. So the picking becomes a crap shoot...... so the choices become whom you "like" - not who is the best of the survivors. Bruce
  8. OK, I'm in. My picks are: 1st round SA in 5 PHX in 6 Clippers in 7 Dallas in 7 DET in 5 MIA in 6 NJ in 6 CLV in 7 2nd round SA in 7 Clippers in 7 DET in 6 MIA in 6 Western Conf title: San Antonio in 5 Eastern Conf title: Detroit in 6 NBA title: DETROIT in 6 You will see Eva Longoria in every game San Antonio plays. So by my count that would 24 games. BruceW :bwallace2: Because I made a mistake in counting games for Eva Longoria, s/b 24 game instead of 19. This edit done before playoffs started. BruceW
  9. Ok, but what are the ground rules? Isn't this on another thread??
  10. Thanks for the heads up on this story Soulstation. Did not see the show but am sure Stephen will have another run of it. Sometimes I think his show collides with games that are on TV so I have missed a whole lot of his shows and he has a quality show. Thanks again, will keep eyes open. Bruce
  11. How many games do you think Cleveland and LA would have won without their respective stars? Of course you can. Guy You don't get it, that is exactly what I said, they score a ton, they would be nowhere without them, but Kobe and Lebron do not make their teams better, they just score and win for them.... and.. There are guys on the really bad teams that score a lot, so why not advocate for them to be Most Valuable also.
  12. Kobe and LeBron are just plain great players. They are not players who make the rest of the team better. They score a ton of points and I'm a little biased myself.... You can't be Most Valuable Players on a team that is not in the upper tier of the league, just can't be. Now if we were talking about the BEST players in the league or the BEST SCORERS in the league, then Kobe and LeBron would be at the top of the list. Waayyyy tooo much hype going to Kobe and LeBron. That is just NBA public relations...... Bruce
  13. Yeah it is really tough on Tiger man, SHE has a twin also.......
  14. Agreed, BUT do remember that "everyone" on the Pistons "distributes" the ball.... same with Phoenix now..... same with Dallas now...... same with San Antonio...... with Cleveland, LeBron is just plain getting better, not MVP though..... same with Carter. Should be between Nash, Billups and Parker, giving the edge to Billups this year.
  15. Well I'll say it..... PISTONS ROCK!! :bwallace2:
  16. You got it! I would lean towards how good a coach Jackson is, the league is ok. :bwallace2:
  17. Man, it must really hurt you that the Pistons are sooo good that you have to call them Piss-tons. Too bad, you will have to hurt a while longer, the PISTONS have a message to deliver tonight!! :bwallace2:
  18. The Refs knew about that 16th T. It was more like they were waiting for "anything" to hit him with it. So Sheed has a rep, so what. The class and character of the refs is greatly damaged by being petty because "anyone" says something against their calls. The refs have a bad rep already with all the missed and bad calls they make and always seemingly refuse to change to correct the situations. Then the league office backs them up with some public dribble that we are supposed to "accept." Anyway, maybe Sheed will finally keep quiet for awhile, at least until the season ends....... :bwallace2:
  19. Yeah, Shaq deserves a suspension. Sheed gets suspended for objecting to a call on a teammate, what the hell is that???? Hell, even Judge Dred got sent to the hinter lands.....
  20. Looks like UCLA ran Big Baby until he ran out of gas!!!!! :bwallace2:
  21. Well Catesta, Then you are missing another revolution in pro basketball. LeBron James is the real deal, character, talent and personality combined with gentlemanly manners on camera. (Now none of us know what he does in private ) and we don't need to know. But he is setting a new character standard for the NBA. Go Pistons :bwallace2:
  22. Try 1235 or 1311 or 1231 or 1313 or 1212; i think 1235 is probably a good start changing the 3 to b3 for minor changes. Then when you are halfway comfortable try a different pattern or reverse them.
  23. Jim, the Pistons traded Stackhouse when they did because Stackhouse had a very very bad attitude when that event occurred. He was considered a head case. Stackhouse was not a team player, he was all "me, me, me." Can't really blame the Pistons for the move at that time. Having said that, I am confused why they did not give Darko more playing time or send him down to the D league. This kid is going to come back and haunt the Pistons. He is doing well now. (Never know what Dumars is up to, he may have traded him to get him more playing time on the highest level and then look to get him back when he reached his potential, having been the one to give Darko his first chance in the league). Anyone know about first round picks, can they even be send down to the D league??
  24. Jim, Mostly what the Pistons have to do now is focus on NOT BEING OVERCONFIDENT. Those slack periods during a game can be a real killer during the playoffs. When they stay focused, they are the team to beat period. When that well oiled machine is going, no team can match them, they are so precise. I see the key to the Pistons success this year being that skinny left handed forward, Prince. Give him total green light on any shot he wants along with the successful shooting mentality of the rest of the team and it will be the PISTONS. BENCH: Flip must give Delfino, McDyss and Evans much more playing time to make it through the playoffs. He is going to play Hunter to give guards a rest. Jury still out on Arroyo trade. That's it fellas! GO PISTONS :bwallace2:
  25. The MJQ was so definitive of jazz in those days. They could swing, play blues, and of course play original out front music incorporating classical aspects of music into their jazz themes. It is almost impossible to pick the "best" album of the MJQ but I think the "Carniege Hall" and "Last Concert" albums best defined them.
