  1. Is this guy for real?? Wants everyone's pity for being "dumped" by Detroit?? BS He planned his move and remember he once said "Detroit is my LAST coaching job." What a liar. Larry Brown will do the same thing to New York after two years. Who knows, maybe even one year..... For all of you who think LB is so great, try turning around and pulling the knife out of your back.
  2. Well everything has happened just like I said it would. LB was just on ESPN whinning his ass off about "they let me go and uh,...." Enough LB. You got a six million buy out just like you always do with teams and now you are going to sign with the Knicks (most of us don't like that either). LB is a manipulator and an asshole and he just screwed the team that I like. Hey guys, the handwriting was on the wall for a long time ever since they won the title in 2003-2004. LB wants too much control and the Pistons did not give him that and they shouldn't have. LB preaches about teaching so the Knicks are prime for him, they need to be taught to win and then he will bail out on them also. It is very sickening to hear his whinny voice on TV trying to make it look like the Pistons did him in. They also interviewed Joe Dumars and he said he would have loved to have LB but that there were a lot of things the public does not know about and he was not going to air their linen. So give up trying to paint LB as some kind of basketball saint. He is not!! and I still love the Pistons. peace
  3. IF Larry Brown signs with the New York Knicks, will his mantra be...... "Well, like I said, I wanted to coach in Detroit but they didn't want me." LB is one slick mofo and a huge whinner.
  4. Don't give LB too much credit. Rick Carlisle built that team. Joe Dumars added Rasheed during LB's tenure and waala, a championship. Sheed was the edge that got them over the top. LB may not be as good as you think.
  5. Nope, you are not the only person. He was so good at it that I also thought that was his natural accent. Also didn't realize "Bones" was gone. Shit, I must be old myself. Hey, imagine having a baby at age 80. What age was his wife at the time?????? Once an engineer....... I guess he could still fix it!
  6. Oh shit Soulstation, that was a good one.. Anyway, SEK does not quite understand what I meant. Yeah he coached them well till they got to the finals, THAT is when he ripped their morale apart. Maybe he thought they would win anyway before the shit happened.
  7. Hi guys, You knew I would show up sooner or later. Well, when the Pistons won their title I said then that Larry Brown would find a way to bail out on the Pistons. While some of you are still laying accolades on him, just remember he also tore apart the present team with his ego narcisstic attitude by breaking his own teams morale with all that bs about the Cleveland job. That was like saying I am leaving you no matter if you win or not. That will tear at any team. The Pistons didn't even show up for the first two games in this last Finals. (not making excuses) Now Brown is trying to hijack the Pistons into getting ALL the money without producing anything else but headaches. Larry Brown, whom I used to like, is just another asshole. the team still rocks though! p.s. note: Darko has been training enough now to get some playing time as the backup center. Mark my words.
  8. Soulstation, Man you got bad luck. You should quit betting and making predictions, you always seem to lose. Peace
  9. There is really a LOT of hostility in this thread. Why don't we all not respond and just go play some jazz.
  10. Time to end this thread.... mrjazzman has gotten all of you to do what he wanted you to do and that is...... to soothe his overinflated ego. He probably sits there with a jazz encyclopedia and throws out all these names, knowing nothing about any of them. For me, you simply cannot desecrate the names of Art Pepper, Gerry Mulligan and Bob Brookmeyer. They all have their place.... Without causing any unnecessary responses, one can only mention Stitt, Criss and Donaldson along side the name of Parker. Cannonball is great but he had the distinct advantage of studying and listening to the previously mentioned before he hit the scene. Kill this thread!!!
  11. Just getting news of attacks here in California. A very little bit of video has just come over the TV. From California, we are praying for everyone and hoping for justice in catching whomever is responsible for these terrible attacks.
  12. So what is it that everyone is "trying to say" but won't say it???
  13. Jalen Rose is washed... Had a semi bad attitude early in career, progressed to a bad attitude the rest of his career in Indiana and Chicago... is a ball hog, gets jealous of other scorers and will not fit Piston makeup.. Pistons will make a very bad mistake if they get Jalen
  14. Well, The Lakers pick a 7 footer with their 10th pick. Maybe they should make sure this kid (only 17 years old) gets at least 5 min of play during first 30 games. Then maybe 6 to 10 minutes next 20 games to find out where he really is. All this providing he has good training camp.
  15. It is always like that, the original is best, so much mystery and unknown. The sequels always have that aspect eliminated no matter how good the movie.
  16. Just went to Upcoming Movies and saw through searching DVD's etc., that Shaun of The Dead IS available on DVD. It has to be ordered for $15.21. Probably a mailing charge also.
  17. Sal, Yeah, I may have 2 and 3 turned around, but all three were great. There were so many imitators during the 2 and 3 that sometimes I get them all mixed up. But George is the man. When I saw LOTD, there was a lady in the audience saying she had been witing 20 years for this. She was not disappointed either. Shaun of The Dead was on pay per view a couple months ago and I missed it. The last listing I saw was at 3 in the morning and I just figured it was running all day the next day. WRONG, I totally missed it because of that last listing. It hasn't been back since. It is not in Blockbusters or anywhere. It was made in England I believe and so there might be some distribution rights involved, you know, money. It is already out on DVD in England. I saw that on some website.
  18. Sal, what you have to remember is "Night of The Living Dead" was the FIRST George Romero independent film, no money, very low budget, and yet is a classic. Land of The Dead is his fourth and definitely the best out since Dawn of The Dead which was his third. Zombie films are not new. They made them back in the 30's and 40's with Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi and those guys. But the zombies were not central characters then. They are now. Agreed, Land of The Dead, is waaay better than all the imitators that have been in between. George is the King. Dennis Hopper was great in this one. I still have not seen Shaun of The Dead, which was supposed to be very good but I think was from England film makers. Did you see that one??? The remake of Dawn of The Dead with Ving Rhames and Sarah Polley, was very good also.

    Roy Ayers

There was a time, posters, when Roy Ayers was THE coming vibist. He could out play anyone and could emulate Milt Jackson at the drop of a hat. He was really at the top when he was playing with the flutist, Herbie Mann and pianist Jack Wilson. HOWEVER, somewhere along the line, he decided he was going to get rich. Thus all the other "stuff" that has his name on it including Searchin' and "Sunshine" tunes. I can remember when Roy was playing on Adams Blvd. in Los Angeles with an organ player named Kozzy Gardner. Man, they would swing all the time. However, Roy is now rich as he intended to be but no longer occupys the minds of true swinging vibists. Sad in a way, but remember, he is rich. He is not the first jazzer to cop out and definitely will not be the last. Shit happens
  20. Slight correction, Lakers won championships 2000 to 2003, forget 2004 and 2005. They did not win "between" 2000 and 2005. It will be "between" when they win another one. However, you are right that Lakers won 3 so far in the 2000's. No other team has done that yet. BUT THEN AGAIN, Lakers are "through" for awhile.
  21. Serena is in denial.... She believes because she won so many big tournments that she does not have to condition. Her conditioning is terrible. Crayba made her look like an amateur, making her lunge at shots and tripping over her own feet (wrong footing). Serena is playing "heavy" (that does not necessarily mean she is fat, it means she is too heavy for the sport. Losing weight for sport is not the same as losing weight because you are fat. She is no longer fast on the "gets", doesn't run back for lobs and cannot make the side to side moves that made her famous. Comon Serena,
  22. I really think Pistons blew this one. Started playing one on one with 8 minutes to go. Bad choice of style. Team ball went out the window. So.... hail the new champions San Antonio
  23. Hey Soulstation, Glad to see you are not a one dimension sports fan. Tennis great. Also requires concentration to see what is going on in the game. Of course the women are nice tooo. Lately Serena has been losing the first set a lot. Needs to put an end to that if she wants to win it all. Bruce
  24. I voted for Pistons because I like them. I also voted for them because they are the best team, and have more hunger to win it again. They also have more tenacity and aggressiveness. Also Duncan is shying away from "taking over a game in order to win."
