Clippers lost in overtime, but man did they play a good game. Showed they can play with the big boys. Just a tad more training in how to win really tough ones and watch out.

Welcome TroyK, First, let me say I went to high school with Paul. Terrific person and musician. What happened to him later in music happened to maybe a thousand other guys. I don't see any reason to keep the thread going about Paul's problems. However, I know where you are coming from when you say this is your first visit to the board and you are critised because your opinion and/or knowledge is a little different than the main stream. Man, I had the same experience and we were only talking about basketball and I am a Piston fan. Seems I stepped on a lot of toes, seems others can say what they want but by my being new I should be restricted in my comments or be criticised. Ok, I accepted that but when I came back to the board later, it was like I was talking to myself. Lots of people making comments all around mine but no one responding. Haven't really posted much since because of this elite attitude that quite a few posters have. Not fair but that is life. The bulletin boards are really great for information but one must recognize that a great deal of people use the bulletin boards to satisfy their own narcisstic beliefs that they in fact, have greater intelligence than anyone else. So that means I am pushing 70 and like RP said, You can't be old and be a fool etc..... Let's see who bites.....

There are a few new shows involving aliens this season. Supernatural, Invasion, Threshold and Surface. My medicine put me to sleep about 8 minutes from the end of this episode. What happen with the kid after the attack? Are the two still at the bottom of the ocean? (Of course they would be, Scientits is the star of the show.) She's got nice DSL's too. (no offense). Invasion by far is the more suspensful, eerie and threatening.

Don't know about a title for Clips but right now it appears they will definitely make the playoffs. Actually it is way too early for any speculation but that is what speculation is; something to have fun with!

Yep I'm back!!! Hey Soulstation, what's up? i was one of the fire victims in California two years ago and just now am getting back into our home. Look for the Pistons to take it all barring injuries. They have best starting five and best next 6-10. They are deep. And yes, the Clippers are taking over, just watch. #8 is still getting a lot of his points off of selfish "no passing" shots or "Pass what, I've got the ball dude." Well, I am old enough to remember those machines, and you did need fittings quite often, because shoes did not last that long in those days. We "walked" to schools (elementary, middle, and high school) in those days. You either patched the holes in them or placed cardboard inside your shoes for awhile. However, the point is that those machines were very dangerous. I have a couple stunted toes from the so called "fun" exposure we kids had from constantly going back to the shoe stores to see our feet. Anyone got information on a class action suit??? By the way, someone mentioned Detroit and that is where I was over exposed to said machine.

Don't really know why Miami obtained Antoine Walker but Williams will be a definite asset (even with some of his issues). The boy can play guard position and he will be happy to get the ball to a healthy Shaq. Antoine will be prone to hogging the ball. BTW; anybody notice how quickly Miami dumped Eddie Jones after getting Shaq? Same thing happened in LA, remember.

Sorry, Joe Dumars made the deal to bring in the final piece of the team half way through a bad season, Rasheed Wallace, not Larry Brown. Without Sheed, Detroit was not going anywhere. I don't have the figures but I am sure someone has the team record just before Sheed was brought in. Detroit was still a so so team at that time.

Just a quick added note, Popovich, whom LB guided into the league, is even better than LB. Pops has won three titles and made it deeper into the playoffs more times than LB. I just think it is wonderful what PR can do for a person. To answer an earlier thread, I do not feel betrayed. I just so happened to be the only person on these forums who forsaw LB pulling what he did as early as the day after the Pistons won their title. Maybe I am just pissed that he actually did it and the way he did it. Having said that, peace to everyone.

LB is not a great coach, maybe a good one, but not great. Red Auerbach and John Wooden were great, Red Holzman was great, Dean Smith was great, Adolph Rupp was great, Chuck Daley was great, Lennie Wilkens was great, Pat Riley was great and Phil Jackson was great and a couple more whose names escape me at the moment. But not Larry Brown. He runs from greatness. Anyway, we have and are entitled to our opinion. Larry Brown's name cannot be mentioned in the same context as the above. Edit: I find it amusing that anyone can call LB an overachiever and a great coach in the same breath.
