  1. Interesting TV today. past NBA finals teams Today I am presently watching 1999 Spurs. Funny how they beat a Shaq/Kobe team in the 2nd round. For those who think a Shaq team is a lock, here is another eye opener. Not only did 1999 and 2004 Lakers get beat (Shaq/Kobe) but the Orlando Magic got swept in the Finals (Shaq/Penny).
  2. Hey, no Larry Brown = no championship last year. Guy ← A repeat is really an accomplishment nowadays. It is bad enough when players make stupid decisions but for the coach to do this is unforgiveable. NOTE: Have to question Dan Gilbert demanding a decision of Brown before the playoffs were over also. He already destroyed the Cavaliers season this year. Bruce
  3. Larry Brown did something that really helps to destroy most teams. Very few teams have come back and won it all after their coach becomes a lame duck coach. I'm really sad for the Pistons
  4. Pistons should regroup and win next game..... Larry Brown did irreparable damage allowing that information leak about his quitting coaching at this time. AND has the nerve to say he is interested in executive office in CLEVELAND, no less. He is now a lame duck coach... Team has lost confidence, cohesiveness Well, to tell the truth, I could expect no less from Brown.
  5. Spurs in 4 Suns have no answer Spurs know what it takes to move on...... Duncan served notice on TV...
  6. Also, didn't the Lakers have Shaq and Kobe for a few years before Phil came in and experienced moderate or little playoff success? Guy ← Thank you
  7. Spurs on the move.... 1 to go
  8. Peace SEK :bwallace2: One question on PJ's skills: if he has such low skills, how does he win 9 championships (plus 1 as a player) - 90% of the teams in the league have at least two stars (one super and one regular star minimum) and those coaches are not winning championships. Yeah I agree, go Pistons!! :bwallace2:
  9. GregK, Know of a bridge you might be interested in.....
  10. You got to be kidding. PJ is MORE than Rick can ever hope to be; won 9 more championships than Brown and 8 more than Daly. I know you speak from hurt feelings but damn......... Exactly how many coaches have built a team and then won a championship with them??????? Rick built a Detroit team, could not win; then built an Indiana team, still has not won. Brown built 76er team, could not win..... Doug Collins built Chicago team and could not win. AND all those Laker coaches who could not win before PJ instilled winning in them. QUESTION; do you want to win or just stay angry at what somebody said 15 years ago??? peace :bwallace2:
  11. I sure hope that Phil wouldn't come to Detroit. I've intensely disliked Phil Jackson since the "Bad Boys" days, when, in Chicago, he was talking about "saving basketball" from the Pistons. I've seen no evidence that Jackson himself can build or sustain a team. He's relied on rosters with superstar(s) and decent assistant coaches for the considerable success that he's had. I hope that Dumars would not make such a Dorko move. ← Very interesting observation. I am Piston fan. Also Laker fan until Kobe emerged as big shit face. Did not realize PJ made that statement. But egos aside, Phil could lead Pistons to at least 3 more championships....... Having said that, he would disgrace himself by returning to Lakers after the way they treated him (ergo, the same as Chicago treated him). By the bye, he could also lead Chicago back to championships (because of the talent they have now) but he just does not need to go there either. All players and coaches SAY things about their competition and then make moves to those very same teams later on. This is the same situation, forgive what he said and allow him to get those additional championships for the Pistons. Bruce
  12. Same with me. If a movie turns out to be worse than I expected, I chaulk it up to a learning experiance (you've got to experiance "bad" to really know what "good" is.) ... I mean, why did you go to it in the first place? ... ← I agree, the big statement being why did you go to it in the first place, so learn from it. There is always something to learn.
  13. Lebron getting a little like Kobe...... stating what coach HE wants the team to hire.... Afterthought... what happens if the team DOES NOT hire the coach he wants....
  14. Looks like Larry Brown looking for a way to run out on Pistons. I said before Brown does not like to stay too long with any team especially after he has taught all he can teach. Getting a team to continuously EXECUTE is boring to Brown, thus he would even leave a championship team after 2 years on a 5 year contract. This might be the opening P. Jackson was waiting for; a really good team to continue winning championships with AND NO ego problems.
  15. Think NBA might be giving extra day rest to all four teams to prepare for final run on Title
  16. I disagree, Pistons take next two at home. Split games 5 and 6; Pistons win 4-2. The Pistons blew a golden opportunity with inconsistency and lack of energy. They never utilized the full court press to its fullest either. I really hate to say this but I wonder if the team knew about this rumor going around about the coach, Brown, leave to Cleveland for some exec position and probably coaching also. Brown is known to quit and go where he can "teach." He probably doesn't feel there is any more teaching to be done in Detroit, only execution. This was no time for that kind of stuff. Damn
  17. Hey check this out... WHO ARE THESE GUYS???
  18. Does anyone recognize these guys??? Now, tell me that is not intimidating..... :bwallace2:
  19. Answers in order.... 1. Yes they did.. 2. Yes he did.. 3. Yes we did (Pistons no more than anybody in the playoffs, stop bitching) 4. Yes they did.. 5. Yes he was and he hasn't seen anything yet, wait until Pistons exert full court pressure possession after possession... 6. Have fun Soulstation, it is a pleasure doing business with ya.... peace
  20. ... In the end it might all come down to coaching -- I don't know if Van Gundy Jr. is capable of making the adjustments necessary to win this series. We shall see... Guy p.s. Was anybody actually able to sit through 4 quarters of this game? This looks like a "turn on your TV after halftime" series. I bet David Stern is having nightmares about a Spurs-Pistons finals. ← Some people are never satisfied. Would it be better to just designate a champion and then those persons would be happy, no playing, but happy they won. These are all good games.
  21. I went to that Stuffo site and the theatrical trailer that I saw really stunk. Half of the trailer time was this lady singing some crap. Then Big Ben gets blown away. So what is thje film??? There is a reference in last post made to Chrome, a movie. I saw the trailer for Chome quite some time ago and it does not resemble this movie at all. I could be wrong..... but how many WOTW films are there at present?? Spielbergs, this guy, and there seems to be Chrome which should have come out some time ago and didn't. This one also didn't.
  22. Soulstation, You just never learn, Jim has won this bet. Pistons take it Oh yeah
  23. Soustation1, Man, you are really having a hard time with your predicative statements, huh Everything keeps happening in reverse, obviously Timmy did not chill today..... Hey have you been listening to the pundits and commentators on who they think (at this time) will really win the title.... Detroit Pistons. peace Bruce
  24. Dirk had every right to get in Dampier's face for his nonplays and nonscoring; had every right to get on Terry for not fouling to prevent the 3 pt shot: Dallas had game 6 and let it get away; BUT Dirk needs to FINISH a lot of his own shots around the bucket..... maybe next year he can do that......
