What rock music are you listening to? Non-Jazz, Non-Classical.

Off topic but is anyone excited about the bands named to the HofF? And to think, XTC remains out. The RRHOF continues to celebrate mediocrity.

I've been listening to Apple Music's Playlists Pop Hits for the years 1960-69, and it is an amazing journey. The music changed so much in those years, it's turned out to be a very interesting listen. -
Been busy with work, but I'm not overly excited about the trade. I'm not a fan of players who don't budge on trying to help the team by trying to play a different position. Thought Devers looked bad, but he's making all the right noises in San Francisco and Buster Posey is a big fan, and he's should know since he's turned the Giants around and added enthusiasm to the organization. I think Kyle Harrison will turn out to be a very good pitcher, he has great stuff, is a lefty, and he's on the verge of putting things together. Should be a consistent 13 - 16 game winner according to my crystal ball. The rest of the players Boston got shouldn't add up to too much, but you never know. Also think Boston desperately wanted out of the contract they signed with Devers, though I don't go along with the big conspiracy theory that the ownership got rid of the contract to spend the money on Manchester United, but it's not a healthy thing to have multiple franchises owned by the same corporation, some team will be left holding the short end of the stick. The Giants are struggling right now, especially on offense, so any addition there is welcome.

Dang, this one really hurts and sucks. Wilson was the background to my life, such great music and was ubiquitous in the San Diego that I grew up in. His created the beach vibe that saturated the culture where I grew up. RIP.

I'm always oblivious to these things, if there's any snakiness going on, I just go right by and forget about it.

Of course the Dodgers win. Don't know how many games they'll win but I wouldn't put 120 out of reach. Playoffs will be another matter though, still not sold on Roberts as a playoff manager.

Watching the Knicks vs Warriors game. I don't get Stephen A. Smith at all. Why is this guy worth twenty million dollars? All he does is yell.

Call me crazy, but I really miss Mnytime (I know he was "troubled" but he knew a lot and was a good writer) I think I read where Jim said he had died. A lot of others I miss also. It feels crazy that this board has been going for twenty-three years, even longer for those who were on the Blue Note Bulletin Board. I feel life is flashing by the older I get.

Sad announcement, I thought he did a good job. What followed has been a disaster for MLB. Bud Selig in the ultimate hypocrite, making bank off the PED crisis, no one can ever convince me he didn't know what was happening. He get in the Hall of Fame, while the players, who did the heavy lifting during that era, are left out. Imagine being a puppet for Jerry Reinsdorf! I'm convinced that Manfred hates baseball and has no idea what's in MLB's best interest.

Bon Voyage: These old Disney movies are interesting to watch.
-
Hollywood Canteen: Enjoyable movie that's designed to boost morale. Betty Davis, I've always read, was the driving force behind the canteen.

Gravity Falls. This has become my favorite animation series, very creative and enjoyable.

Sad looking at all these great names that have passed on, what great creativity though.

Late to the game here, but how was this book? It looks interesting.

The "Pat Ewing Fix", is the JFK Assignation Conspiracy of the NBA, it's true, the creased edge is the magic bullet of the NBA>

Some incredible gospel music I've been browsing through on YouTube.

Very nice obituary, it was a sad day when Cuscuna died, he did so much for jazz.

It still boggles the mind, the claim that "no one knew". I'm supposed to believe there was no account looking at expenses, or that one was, but was all "It's only $500,00, nine times, to somone's personal bank account, and the memo line is 'gambling debts'.... that's fine, I won't flag it!"
-
Yeah, even with the Ohtani presser, there are so many questions: to run up that big of a debt, at the very beginning, some one is going to ask who is guaranteeing the money; who let's a low level employee run that big of a tab on his own? As JSngry asks, were there other athletes betting with this guy, especially among the Angels? Is that where the source came from? and was this guy the Angels bookie? His name didn't come from the yellow pages, that's for sure. Are there wiretaps and videos? MLB hopes they can turn a blind eye to this one, but I don't think so.

It all continues to sound strange to me, like a desperate cover up going on. Articles I’ve read always say Ohtani has no interest in other sports. So either he’s a great actor, or he’s hiding his gambling behind Mizuhara. Ask too the comment I see sometimes that he’s too rich to do something so dumb, I’d say ask Michael Jordan about that! Maybe Ohtani can play basketball in the G League for a year.

It is a strange story, and does stink to high heaven. One conclusion is that this is not the only payment to Bowyer because you would think a payment of that amount of money, for the first time, would be flagged either by the bank or the account firm of Ohtani. A lot of bad things follow if this is not a one time payment.
