And of course, all the OT games were won by the teams I didn't pick....

I'm still wondering how that field goal was called good. These replacement refs have got to go!
-
Brutal hit. These replacement refs are letting a ton of head shots go in the games I watched today. Hope he's okay also. Just saw a replay in which Darrius raised a hand to acknowledge the crowd. I'm relieved. Brutal week of picks for us, Matthew. Picks? What picks? It was my evil twin who picked the games for me this week.... Gosh, brutal is a nice way to put it, hopefully I can sneak wins in tonight and tomorrow. Speaking of brutal, the Chargers were just that this afternoon.

Help! I'm sinking fast today.

What I said last year still holds... Happy Birthday! And this year also -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I think no one is listening to Rex Ryan anymore, his style doesn't seem to last too long. Rex is the Jerry Glanville of the 2010s

More ammo for the players lawsuit....

It's obvious that the refs are being intimidated by coaches, players, and crowds --14 of the 16 games were won by the home team. I think this weekends games are going to be absolute messes, with everyone trying to push the boundaries of what they can get away with.

The Chargers still don't look that great, and Reivers is still shakey in his throws with a terrible interception at the end of the first half. If they're going anywhere, the Chargers need to get better on offense. Oakland was so bad that even the radio guys were saying they were terrible, which would never happen during the days of The Dark Lord. The coaching staff look to be in way over there heads, and the offense is nowhere to be found -- especially McFadden & Palmer. The Reggie Mac regime is off to a very rough start, bring back Tom Cable!

Why did I ever think the Cheifs would beat Buffilo? I wasn't drinking either. I mean Buffalo. Darn iPhone

Jon Raney's biography of his father, he's put what he has so far on line: Jimmy Raney Book in Progress After much thought and consideration on this matter and not having been able to produce the finished work as promised for several years, I have decided as a gift celebrating what would have been Jimmy’s 85th birthday to release a large portion of Jimmy’s original unfinished work with sectional updates in pdf form along with a preview of what is to come from me (chapter 5).**PDF file last updated 8/31/12. Should all be correct now. Click here for the rest

Heaven help me, but I'm actually interested in ordering the Lark's Tongues In Aspic 40th Anniversary Limited Edition 15 cd set. Do the King Crimson fans here think it's worth the money?

Apparently, even 'Since I've Been Loving You' was a rip off of ZZ Tops 'Jesus Just Left Chicago' With Moby Grape factoring in there also...

Happy Birthday Dan! Play some Gene Harris and relax!

My thoughts also, don't want to be in a movie theater with a bunch of people trying to recapture the supposed feel of a Zep concert -- been there, done that, back in the 70s. No way that feel will ever come back, it was almost an act of rebellion to attend one of their concerts back then (well, as teenagers, at least we thought it was). Will by the DVD though....

The Liverpool gig is more up his line -- own a team in another country so he doesn't have to deal with anything in person, he can just write his infamous emails to everyone without any human interaction, then trash people as they leave the organization (though, of course the quotes will be from an "anonymous source"). That seems to be his preferred mode of operation.

I see where everyone had Green Bay last night, we're nothing but a bunch of chickens.

blue note launches spotify app

Trying it right now. This is actually a really cool idea and well-executed. The opportunity to browse through the catalog chronologically, while showing all those old album covers, is something I really like. It's not perfect - much of the more obscure OOP material still hasn't been uploaded by EMI itself, so there are gaps and missing tracks (the John Hardee/Ike Quebec sides include only two cuts that were issued by some PD label). But huge props to whoever came up with a way to map all the albums to what's in the Spotify database. I don't know how much money this is going to make them but this is the kind of thing that makes me at least want to spend money on the CDs. Thanks Big Wheel. This was a project I lead. As longtime Blue Note addict and a digital nerd I took the opportunity to try to build the most engaging experience possible. Definitely a lot of gaps and I'm working w/ the EMI team that handles the feed into Spotify w/ regard to clearances and updates to the discography. I'm going to keep working to make this better and better. Comments are always welcome so please send them my way. Not sure if you saw the Rolling Stone and LA Times articles but so far, the reviews have been positive. Thanks for giving it a spin. http://www.rollingst...covery-20120912 http://www.latimes.c...,0,689551.story Let also add my kudos for this app, it's a very good way to explore the various "ages" of Blue Note, I'm really enjoying it. Good work! -
You still have Shanahan, so don't get too excited. Glad the Chargers won (I so wish they'd go back to the powder blue jerseys from my youth), with the Raiders, it just seems the more things change, the more they stay the same -- mistake after mistake after mistake after mistake. Gruden must have loved it.

Yeah, but opening week is always a bear to pick, as pre-season means nothing, so we're looking at teams for the first time. RGIII looks great though, we'll have to wait and see how Shanahan screws this one up.

http://www.zdnet.com...ver-7000003846/ I'm debating whether to buy that or not, have no need for the Fire, as I do not play computer games, do not subscribe to newspapers, etc. Might wait for more reviews to come in, though I really like the idea of being able to read a Kindle in the dark, it is a P.I.A. when you fly at night and they turn off the cabin lights, whenever I turn on the overhead light the person next to me always complains.

Ha! They're nothing compared to Yuni Beatencourt.
