  1. Lohse vs Medlen
  2. The Giants vs. Reds should be a good series to watch; the first game Saturday has Cain & Cueto facing each other. The Reds had trouble dealing with AT&T Park, these night games kill offense. I see the Giants winning the series, their pitching is better, and the offense should be able to score enough runs to win it, but we'll see what happens.
  3. Lakers are going ALL THE WAY! I'm looking forward to the NBA season, big time. I found the baseball season very dull for some reason, but with Superman with the Lakers now, along with Kobe, Nash, and Gasol, they might be able to beat OKC and Miami. I don't think I can take back-to-back Heat titles.
  4. So, either the Yankees, Rangers or Orioles will be out after losing one game in this new fangled play-off system. That makes so much sense, Bud Selig is an idiot.
  5. Definitely the something. I have not ever kept a Mizell anything in my collection. Had mercifully forgotten about the whole "A New Note on Blue Note" marketing schtick. I did like the bold blue record label from that era. Given all that, I do like what the Mizell brothers did on Johnny Hammond's Gambler's Life, their style was a good fit for the album, though that was released on the Salvation label, a subsidiary of CTI.
  6. The Mizell brothers are visionary heroes now, who would've thunk it?????
  7. Importing them directly from CDJapan will undoubtedly be cheaper. To follow up on Hans' link: Here's the pages with the cds A number of the cds are high on my want list
  8. I'm going throw out a name that people don't think too much about, but Thad Jones has always struck me of having a very musical mind. Granted there are no breakneck speed solos going on, but there is always such a graceful, musical feel to what he plays, and I find him very creative.
  9. Nah, I think Detroit will make a quick exit, Chicago handed the title to them and I'm not impressed. Yankees vs. Giants this World Series.
  10. Friends: Season One. About every two years, I go on a major Friends watching spree, after all, all life's problems can be answered by following the example of Joey & Chandler.
  11. I admit to being in total Dazed & Confused mode, I can't figure who's playing who in the playoffs...
  12. Why in the world are either of the Ryan's taken seriously as coaches? The Jets look totally unprepared, and the Dallas defense was a joke last night. Oh well, Rob just looks so firery,so he must be a great coach!
  13. I was wondering if you had the Browns tonight....
  14. I like Beltre's reaction, which basically is: "Name names and don't hide behind 80%" Which is true, Gagne has put everyone who was on that team under a cloud now. My reaction: *Yawn* Does anyone care anymore?
  15. Mike Love just can't help being Mike Love. You have to admire that level of jerkitude after awhile, it takes true commitment.
  16. Basketball is pretty enmeshed with gambling, with college players, and a NBA ref going to jail over the years. The point spread is too easy to influence in basketball, heck I've been to games and the loudest cheer has been at the end of a game, when the home teams covers with some last second baskets. But your point is right on, it's too easy to get at these replacement refs, and the NFL should be concerned. And another reason why to be concerned is that most of the money lost was going to the Packers to cover, not Seattle. That means with the call, casinos, on-line betting, etc., weren't paying out, but instead, keeping the money. So that 150-250 million switch in action, was action that mostly stayed home with the house. Like the house needs the breaks....
  17. Sad news, I liked his singing, and the show was a childhood staple in our house.

  19. I reserve the right to be pigheaded, intolerant, ignorant, prejudiced, one-sided, and loudmouthed, in my sports opinions.
  20. I agree - worst call EVER!! It's not even close to as bad as The Tuck Rule. Ha! The Holy Roller was much worse than The Tuck! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04XOeLowAzo
  21. NB80's. NBATV going though each year from the 1980's in the NBA. It brings back a whole bunch of memories -- who doesn't love Chocolate Thunder?
  22. Your wish is my command: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hTFMD5NX1Q
  23. had the call been reversed, seattle fans may have rioted. Actually, that thought did cross my mind, overturn the TD, and I think things would have gotten very ugly, very quickly.
  24. That last touchdown was a completely bogus call, the worst call I've ever seen, just terrible.
