Was due to follow up with David Leibman + BBC Big Band but a power cut in the area of the Everyman Theatre meant that the concert had to be cancelled. You know, it's a shame when a big band can't play acoustic!

I'll have to find a copy someday. Thanks for the heads up.

Did you consider the Hotel Kitano? It's a very intimate club in a nice Japanese owned hotel; very good sound; and they seem to care about music there. I saw Mike Clark there last October, and he had an organist in the band. The fellow who seems to be in charge of the club is there in the evenings when they have music (Wednesday to Saturday) (sorry but I don't know his name). Gino Moratti

They play "Baubles, Bangles and Beads on "Interactions", that says it all.

I heard Wayne and Puma for almost every night during a three week stand in 1975. I got to know Chuck some since he was in strange territory ( Rochester), so we had some meals together and I took him to a radio interview and a driving range ( golf was a passion for him). One day I asked him if Joe would like to come along and he said "'He just sits in his room and practices while watching TV". I gathered that they didn't get along off the bandstand too well. Their music was very intricate but very free and flowing at the same time. Master musicians. I didn't talk to Puma much, but I used to visit Chuck whenever I was in NYC and he was playing, usually at Gregory's. He was always very nice and a highly intelligent and well rounded person. I've seen worse. When John Mellencamp was John Cougar Mellencamp ( that's just after Johnny Cougar) he was on Nightwatch, and after about 30 seconds, he was asked something that he didn't like he yelled out 'Howard, get me otta here! Howard!!!!?? Howard!!!??". (Howard must have been his manager.) Then he ripped the mike off his shirt and stormed off. What a ass! He can't act either. About Canadian audiences: I saw the Stones (with Stevie Wonder opening) in 1972 at Maple Leaf Gardens, in Toronto. All of the natives sat in their chairs and were very reserved. It's a cultural thing. At least is was then. The Americans who came north for the show contained them selves for a while, but half way through, stormed the stage. By the way, the Stones were all show biz and more than a bit of a boor to me. Stevie stole the show. I remember he played drums at one point too.
