  1. The Wayback machine is brilliant but it is only useful for the sets released after 1999. I am looking for the discograohy of the 'Count Basie Roulette Studio recordings ....1957-62'. Can anybody help? Thanks
  2. It's great to see all these Welsh people have something to cheer about. Wales were the best team throughout and their victory is fully deserved. As a Frenchman, it is also painful to admit it, but it is great news for the 6 nations tournament as France and England domination was too overwhelming for too long.Allez les Bleus quand meme!
  3. Don't forget me either! Pink Floyd must be my favourite rock band ever. I really like Atom Heart Mother, but I am surprised nobody has mentionned 'Animals'. This is by far the album I prefer. I wish they were still here ....
  4. Hank Mobley Fifties sessions disc 4.
  5. Thanks to you all. I will have to make some room on my shelves for this set. These will be my first Mulligan CDs.
  6. I have the chance to buy this set but I can't find any thread on it. Could you tell me what you think of it?
  7. Stan Getz with Jimmy Raney. Disc 1.
  8. Hi.Just sent you PM regarding this set.
  9. I am going to keep my set. Amazon are obviously prepared to refund or change the whole set, but it is a lot of hassle for just 30 seconds and ..... there is no guarantee that the replacement set they will will be fine!
  10. No scratchy noise on disc 6/track 1 here--but then again, our football season's been over for a while. If you bought the set from Caiman via Amazon, contact Caiman directly and they'll take it back in exchange for a new one. I didn't get it from Caiman but Amazon and I paid more than most of you!! I will get in touch with them but I doubt they will change the one defective CD. Mosaic might be easier to deal with and they may be a bit more co-operative.
  11. . Sorry for the delay but football is very important in this part of the world. I am now listening to track 1 of disc 6. 'Scratchy noise from beginning to 00.37 sec. The rest of the track is fine and I am going to listen to the rest of the disc now.
  12. I will do a proper test when the football game is over but I am not sure we are talking about the same thing here. The noise on my CD is not minor. It sounds a bit like the CD was jumping and it lasts for about a minute. More from me about this matter after the game!
  13. I received mine a month ago but I have only just listened to disc 6 and there is a problem too. There is a constant 'scratchy noise' on track 1 for about one minute. I am now listening to track 5 and it's been fine since but that's a bad surprise. Not sure what to do as I got my set from Amazon.UK.Get in touch with Amazon or Mosaic?
  14. Any views on 'Like someone in love'? It's the only one I don't have. I have never read anything really encouraging on that one.
  15. Ooops... forgot 'Free for All'. Brilliant album too!
  16. Buhaina's delight and Indestructible are my fav. RVGs. Not that keen on 'Night in Tunisia' apart from the title track. 'Indestructible' is my favourite Blakey album along with 'Mosaic'.
  17. Yeah, sure, it sold out in the 1960's. But back then people only used the CDs as COASTERS, so it's hard to find a set now without those rings left by glass condensation or spill stains or scuff marks all over the CDs.
  18. I've experienced the same problems a few times recently but it usually does not take to be back to normnal. I even found myself once with only ten sets left on the main page! What a scare!!
  19. Horace Silver: Song for my father and Walter Davis Jr: Davis Cup. PM me if interested. Thanks

    March 1st RVG

I wonder if they're actually going to release all of these... Well, Feelin' The Spirit has the tune Joshua Fit De Battle Ob Jericho on it, and Jericho is a city in the Middle East, so the Grant Green clearly has to be cancelled. Speak Like A Child has a tune called Riot. There have been riots in Iraqi cities, so the Herbie Hancock can't be released either. But even worse is Night Dreamer which has a tune called Armageddon (gasp), as well as tunes called Black Nile and Oriental Folk Song. No Wayne Shorter either obviously. Horace Silver and the Jazz Messengers. Hmm, Jazz Messengers sounds kind of like Jazz Crusaders, and we know what they think about crusaders in the Middle East. To be on the safe side it probably shouldn't be released either. The same goes for the Art Blakey. But at least we can look forward to the Sonny Clark RVG! Not sure about the Sonny Clark either! 'Dial S for Sonny'.Hmmm..... It could be a secret message from an Al Qaeda member based in Basra!
  21. Thanks to both of you and to the great lady too!
  22. Could anybody post the discography of this set as it is not available on the Mosaic website and I can't find it anywhere else. If you can't post it could you please tell me if the set 'The Complete Roost Recordings' include all the music of the Mosaic? Thanks!
  23. H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y ! ! ! !
  24. Listening to Hank Mobley The Fifites Sessions, Disc 1 for the first time. Great sound, nice photos in the booklet and superb music. Money well spent!!
