The Tone Poet series is being curated by Don Was and Joe Harley and they have not limited it to the Blue Note catalog. There have been Solid State ("Now He Sings, Now He Sobs"), Pacific Jazz ("Katanga", "Chet Baker Sings" & "New Bottle, Old Wine") and United Artists ("Money Jungle") releases sprinkled in there.

Yeah, I saw that. The mania exhibited on that thread is only rivalled by the 2021 RSD thread on that forum. Reminds me of the ‘Messiah’ sketch on Life of Brian.

and what’s that about a Columbia Kind of Blue mono? Surely you don’t want to slum it with that - on the Hoffman Board you are nobody unless you have the Super High Definition whatsit in its leatherette case.

Got hold of a spare. No chances taken on this one !

Have to admit it sounds great - even if it did cost a king’s ransom. Having said that, the moment I bought it, the price here seemed to drop £10..

Have to say that this session really comes to life on the vinyl version. Enjoyed the Conn CD but always though it sounded a bit like a rehearsal. This richer sound is a real plus.
