Daniel A Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Joe Henderson 'Page One' (1990s Toshiba pressing which has a very pleasant sound). The King pressings seem to be universally held high in regard; the Toshibas are perhaps more uneven. I'll probably start a discussion about this one of these days - I suppose there are at least a handful of board members which will be able to offer some input on the matter. Quote
Daniel A Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Cannonball Adderley 'Somethin' Else' (another 90s Toshiba pressing). Love Hank Jones' playing on the final vamp of Autumn Leaves - he's really one of the most sophisticated pianists jazz has had. Quote

I have a few of the Toshibas (none of the Kings)--nice quiet surfaces and fine sound. Quote

six string Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Blood Sweat and Tears eponymous release (Two Eye Columbia Stereo) I found this one yesterday still in the shrink wrap for $5.00! I didn't pay much attention to them when they first came out, but this is a pretty decent album and the sound quality is amazing. Quote
