BillF
'Mel Lewis & Friends' (A&M Horizon). Nice session with Hank Jones, Freddie Hubbard and a young Michael Brecker. I really like that one, Sidewinder, though I have it on CD as you might expect.

Mark Stryker
Dexter Gordon 'Swiss Nights', vol. 1 (Steeplechase) Great record -- one of the best late Dexter LPs, with exceptional tenor solos on "Tenor Madness" and "Days of Wine and Roses," plus the trio (Drew, Pederson, Riel) sounds tight. Riel sometimes gets on my nerves in this period by being too busy and too on top of the time, but not here. For what it's worth, I also really like "Bouncin' with Dex" and "The Apartment" from the same period.

Big Al
No Strings (with Strings) - Ralph Burns and his Orchestra Very nice! That Mel Lewis album didn't do much for me. I was gonna spin it again to see if it did, but I must've sold it. Oh well.... Mundell Lowe 'New Music of Alec Wilder' (Riverside, white label) with Joe Wilder, Milt Hinton, Ed Shaughnessy, etc... Teasing the Korean
Quartette Tres Bien - Boss Tres Bien - Decca (rainbow, mono) These guys made a zillion albums for Decca but they rarely pop up used, in my experience. Not sure if that's reflective of the number of LPs that were pressed, or the unwillingness of the original owners to let go of those LPs.
