Disques Erato was purchased by Warner in 1992.

Warner is still taking care of the Erato catalogue!

Thanks Brownie. I see they don't still have Daniel-Lesur's "Symphonie de danses" in print.

Following Kenny Weir's thread on remakes, I listened to

Bobby Bland - Tell Mr Bland - MCA - the new version of "Queen for a day" is wonderful; with a blistering trumpet solo by Bobby Bryant. (The LP ain't all that good, though.)

Now, in the same vein

Etta James - Etta is betta than evvah - Chess (All Platinum) - the new 1976 version of "W_O_M_A_N", now called "Woman (shake your booty)" is an almost complete reconstruction of the original blues into a blazing hot funk groove that just don't stopppppp! (It's a pity the LP has three tracks reissued from her 1974 LP - I'd have liked it to be all new material. Perhaps All Platinum didn't want to pay for more studio time. I think it's the only new Chess album that was made when the Robinsons owned the firm.)
