Uncle Skid
A recommendation for Big "No Armstrong" Al: Louis Armstrong & Duke Ellington: The Great Summit-The Master Takes
GA Russell
On Friday I ordered Janis Siegal's A Thousand Beautiful Things. Yesterday I was notified that it was on backorder. That album is on Telarc. I believe that a number of her Telarc albums have recently been removed from BMG/Your Music's list. Telarc is now owned by Concord, which has withdrawn its participation of BMG/Your Music for all of its other labels. So I cancelled the order, figuring that they are never going to get it back in, and ordered something else. If there is a Telarc you want, I suggest that you order it pronto. Big Al
I mean, I'm ashamed to admit I got rid of it. Probably will try it again sometime.
jazzbo
No shame. . . it's just that one is tricky. . . it doesn't reveal it's charms too easily. And it may be that the charms are for the cognoscenti. . .that is if you know Duke well and if you know Pops well this is a hoot. Full of little moments. To me to hear Pops singing "Azalea" is a delight! But that's because it's just a song I like and I know other versions and Pops sortof does what he does and transforms it so subtly. Things like that make this a really great session for me, but I can imagine that to someone with less familiar ears it may not mean that much. Aggie87
I got the same message for Banyan (Nels Cline thing) last night. Would have been nice to get a warning that it was running low or about to be deleted or something, first.
