JSngry Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I'd recommend the new one by The Turbinator. Nice stuff. Quote
Brad Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I've already got Queen of the Organ and Crazy Baby so that reduces my output right there Quote
Soul Stream Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I'd recommend the new one by The Turbinator. Nice stuff. Yes. This is definately a "must have" (overused word I know) organ record that is a modern day classic. Lonnie is at the peak of his powers, and this album more than any other shows it. Buy it, so Lonnie can sell enough to warrant a second CD on Palmetto. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Don't forget the new Organissimo CD which should be out sometime this year. B-) Quote

scottb Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I recommend Jimmy McGriff's I GOT A WOMAN. This was in B3er top ten list a while back and after hearing some samples online I ordered it. If you don't have it and like the B3, you should really check this one out. This disc smokes! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 When you count to 3 and snap your fingers, will we feel normal? I hope not; that would be too big of a change for me... Quote

Jazz Kat Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I don't know anything about the band. Is there just an organist and guitarist? Quote

Jazzmoose Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I don't know anything about the band. Is there just an organist and guitarist? Yeah. Oh, their roadie, Randy hangs out with them too, but they just set him up in front of a drum machine... Quote
mikeweil Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Back to topic: 1. the new Organissimo (signed, no less!) 2. the latest Turbanator 3. the latest melvin Rhyne 4. some Don Patterson Prestige still missing in my collection 5. Groove Holmes first Prestige with Misty on it 6. ..... (leave blank for later use) Quote
mikeweil Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Found the Melvin Rhyne at my Frankfurt store yesterday - very nice, but didn't impress me quite as much as the previous Criss Cross Trio CDs. To fill the blank space - I just ordered this Baby: Quote
mikeweil Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Received it last week, it's great, better than the Rhyne. Currently listening to Brad Leali's Priority Soul, which I got after a long search, it has Rhyne on it, alongside Peter bernstein and Jimmy Cobb, and is very nice! Quote
