Alexander Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 Happy V.D. to all! I did a cute activity with my 9th grade Honor students this morning: I gave them valentines with quotes from Romeo and Juliet. They had to identify the speaker, and then find the person in the room with a quote from the *same* speaker on their Valentine. I played Frank Sinatra singing "My Funny Valentine" as they did this. It was a blast! Quote
Dan Gould Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 Happy V.D. to all! It was a blast! Did they have as much fun as you did? I ask because I don't remember any enforced Valentine's activities by the time I reached the age where kids are dating. No enforced card giving, no candies, and certainly no surrepticious matchmaking in the Honors Class (or so I heard). Happy Valentine's Day, y'all! Quote
catesta Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 (edited) Same to you, Rachel, "pimp handle" alter egos included. Edited February 14, 2005 by catesta Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 Happy V.D. to everyone. I heard a cute thing on A Prairie Home Companion on my way home from northern Michigan yesterday afternoon. Keilor was talking about his seven year old daughter and how any father with a young daughter gets to play the role of her valentine until she's about 10 or 11. And then she finds someone else. And then you die. I'm looking forward to being Zora's Valentine! Quote
jazzbo Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 Rachel, thanks! All: Have a wonderful day, hope there's lots of loving going on! Quote
Noj Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 Happy V.D. to everyone. This abbreviation has other, less appealing connotations! Beyond that, Happy Valentine's Day Rachel and everyone else! Quote
