I don't desire this set. Still, thanks for the posting the information. I'm concerned the Capitol Jazz box will go to Running Low soon.

Wooah ! Thanks for posting this. I've had my eye on the Milburn set, hoping to pick it up eventually at one of their sales. Looks like my hand has been forced.. ;)

Besides, the Charles Brown set needs a companion ! :g

PIANO MOODS is the one I'm concerned about.

These are two sets that are under my radar. Will try to be aware when they go into the Running Low list.

PIANO MOODS is the one I'm concerned about. Appreciate these updates--I kind of rely on this board as a distant early warning system.

This was released when I got my first Mosaic flyer, and I still haven't decided. I'm leaning against, however...

if you're a Tina Brooks completist, you'll want to get the milburn set........

I'm in a Tina Brooks mood this evening. I'd like to have the Milburn set. I know certain people on this Board will disagree with me, however, I don't want those damned records. I wish the Milburn set was available on CD (just for the Tina material).

It was available on CD for many years - it took a LONG time to sell out on CD (came out about 1994 and was around until about 2000 or 2001) and the LPs have been around even longer. Mosaic didn't create this as an LP only set, it just sold poorly on LP and they have been stuck with them.

Scott Wenzel (Mosaic) told me last year the Capitol Jazz set would very likely remain available through 2005.

By the way, the Milburn Mosaic is a great set if you're into Texas/West Coast Blues/R&B. Highly recommended! :tup

Yes, indeed... also if you're a fan of tenor saxophonist/arranger/composer Maxwell Davis (who was all over the Charles Brown Mosaic as well).

I'd enjoy a set of Texas/West Coast Blues/R&B tunes very much. Maybe Mosaic can destroy one of the record sets and sell me a set on CD? :P

Smart move, sidew. Amos could bring it and the vinyl really enhances his delivery. I like Chas. Brown a lot, but Amos for me takes it to another level. One of my Mosaic favorites and, if I can resist the NCAA games tonight, will put on a couple Milburn lps.

Thanks for the encouraging comments, clandy44 ! :tup Its been a very good Mosaic week - I asked them to ship a Turrentine set with the Amos and I've got a 'line' on a mint Basie Roulette Live to go with the 'Studio' LP set ( :excited: ). Doesn't get better !
