My wife and I used to really like the show "Elsbeth" on CBS. But it has gotten ridiculously repetitive. Even worse, the mysteries are always "insta-solved". The latest one we watched, she gleamed the murderer in less than 30 seconds. I know we're supposed to believe that Elsbeth is very good at detecting, but this one was absolutely insane - the husband had already confessed to the murder.

I liked the Elspeth character on The Good Wife so I watched the show a few times when it began.  I burned out on it pretty quickly because the format tells you the solution up front and then you are left to watch Elspeth masterfully - or painfully and transparently after a few disappointing episodes - figure out the solution to the mystery.  Tada!

My girlfriend likes Elsbeth. But it's definitely the same show over and over again. I think she likes the character as well as the famous guest stars that show up.

I like Elsbeth. It's definitely the character, which I have enjoyed since "The Good Wife," though now she's become Sherlock Holmes in many ways, and i enjoy how she is somewhat like Sherlock and Columbo combined. It's a fun show. . . I like fun shows to escape within.

Breaking Bad. I completely missed the original run but now I am seeing A LOT of YouTube clips of the show, discussions of it with Vince Gilligan, the creator, and interviews with the main actors. I have a mixed impression of it. I appreciate the acting and the production, the music, etc., but I am not sure what to think of the themes. It doesn't seem believable to me, or even something to hold on to or care about. I guess I prefer to see moral issues handled in a different way. I guess I am watching it more out of curiosity over it, asking what's all the buzz about it. That was the way I approached watching The Sopranos YEARS after it ran on TV. I got way more into it than Breaking Bad. Don't know why.

Hey we're all different. I for example am much more into Breaking Bad than Sopranos, and I prefer Better Call Saul to Breaking Bad. Gilligan did a lot of interesting X-Files episodes, as well as the interesting show that just concluded its first season last year, Pluribus--he's an accomplished television creator.

I didn't get around to watching The Wire and The Sopranos until ten years or so after each show had ended its run. Loved them both and just recently began re-watching The Wire. Mad Men I did see while it was airing, and I'll be re-watching that one at some point as well. My best friend has been pressing me to watch Breaking Bad for a long time, and I've checked out some clips on YouTube, but it hasn't pulled me in yet. I'll likely watch it at some point, though, as it's so often grouped with the three shows I just mentioned as the Fantastic Four of cable TV's "golden age" period in the 2000s.
