Jim Alfredson Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 www.organissimo.org I totally re-designed and updated the main web site for the band, so check it out! Includes new photos, including some shots of our recent gig at Baker's Keyboard Lounge, as well as some video clips from that same gig! Dig it and let me know what you think! Quote
Aggie87 Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 (edited) Hey, that's not new cover art I see down in the corner, is it?? If so, can we see a larger image? Or is it a teaser? edit: homepage looks great, by the way! Edited June 5, 2005 by Aggie87 Quote

Noj Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 It is indeed! Noj is the man! ← Thanks Jim! I'm excited to see it up there! Quote
kulu se mama Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 the videos are too cool. it's nice to be able to see and hear the band. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Thanks for the movies! Happy feet!! Damn, I gotta see you guys live sometime... Quote
Jazz Kat Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Spectacular! It's great. I especially loved the video clips. Are you guys going the same route as Soulive, hiring those tenor cats permenantly? just kidding. Keep it up. Sounds great! Can wait to hear the new release. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 5, 2005 Author Report Posted June 5, 2005 JazzKat, We add Johnny when the budget allows. It's always nice to have another fresh solo voice when you're doing a four hour hit! Plus Johnny plays his ass off and is really greazy... a perfect fit! Quote
Jazz Kat Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Yup, dispite my light hearted humor, the tenor always goes great with some b-3, as did with those tracks. I especially love the tenor on Clap Yo' Hands. Jimmy Smith Goes To Washington remains my favorite track of all time. No joke.. Quote
couw Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 It could use a tad more periwinkle, but otherwise it looks great! Seriously, great job! I like the pastel-Mondrian approach here. Some minor things and suggestions: - the main navigation bar changes when you leave the "home" section. I understand you do not want a link to "home" on your splashpage, but also was a bit confused as I was clicking through the pages and clicked on the first link ("about"), then on the second link, which was suddenly also "about"! Maybe change the upper bar with the logo and the bandname to a link and put a second link to "home" at the bottom with the copyright line. - in IE the text on Boogaloo Sisters on the Media page runs across the purple divider (not so in Opera). - on the photo page links to pics 8 and 9 are exchanged: click on Randy and get Johnny, click on Johnny and get Randy - may I suggest you change the titles of the pages to "Organissimo - photos", "Organissimo - press", etc., instead of just "photos", "press",... - maybe put a coloured bar underneath each of the pics on the bio page to weigh out the empty grey. - the fields on the home page are not aligned to the left. The "Board Statistics" field is one pixel less wide. - the fields on the press page are not aligned at the top: the white field reaches one pixel further up Enough complaining, I need to watch me some videos now! neveronfriday Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 If I have time this summer, and if you'd like me to, I think I'll try to put a standards design together for the band homepage. I'm learning at the moment and browser incompatibilities are a pain inthe neck, but eventually I'll have it figured out. Jim Alfredson Posted June 5, 2005 Author Report Posted June 5, 2005 couw, thank you for the critique, I really appreciate it! I took all of your advice and fixed everything except these: - the fields on the home page are not aligned to the left. The "Board Statistics" field is one pixel less wide. - the fields on the press page are not aligned at the top: the white field reaches one pixel further up I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to fix that. Jim Alfredson Posted June 5, 2005 Author Report Posted June 5, 2005 aargh... Again, trying to figure out the best way to fix it. Quote
