Tartit - Abacabok Tinariwen - Radio Tisdas Tinariwen - Amassakoul (hope they get the new release that is supposed to be out in March!) Oumou Sangaré - Moussolou Khaled - Sahra Aimee Mann - One More Drifter in the Snow (couple of the new songs) They have so much amazing stuff, particularly for world music labels. Unfortunately, World Circuit isn't on eMusic. In past months, I downloaded pretty much everything they had by Amadou et Mariam. One of these upcoming months, I'll just dl all the Fela CDs (I only have a handful currently). And I'll probably dl the new Tom Waits collection after that. BFrank) I d/l some great stuff, including Last Exit, the Miles Isle of Wight track, Rahsaan Roland Kirk's "Brotherman" and Dewey Redman's "In London." Also got Greg Bendian's Interzone "Tribute to Jack Kirby" which is fantastic. Can see myself getting pulled into the whole "digital distribution" thing, esp. as local shops close up and the big retailers shrink their stock. Need to upgrade my hardware to have enough HD space for monthly D/L, but I am sure I will sign-up in the future, esp. after having discovered some great music! Thanks again! Dennis Gonzalez' name drew me in to Alvin Fielder Trio - A Measure of Vision and it was worth it. Lyrical and evocative. Rudresh Mahanthappa - Codebook impressed on first listen, a quartet with Vijay Iyer. They continue to add items on the Ayler Records label and William Parker - And William Danced and Exploding Customer Live at the Glenn Miller Cafe are both excellent. The two George Freemans are the best, but McGriff's "Fly dude", which also has Freeman and all of the Holmes, particularly "American pie" are extremely good. I'd like to get the O'donel Levys and the Joe Thomas. Missed those back in the day. What's the deal with emusic? Is this material available to Europeans? (The Verve stuff isn't.)
