tranemonk Posted July 31, 2007 Author Report Posted July 31, 2007 I'm getting the sense that NO ONE has ordered it since it went to Running Low... Is that right??? If that's correct, then that's kinda telling... I'm still on the fence..... Quote
kh1958 Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I ordered it, the set looks good to me. Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) There was a thread about it, i ordered it at the same time than the Herman set, unfortunately i was too late for the Herman set. http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...erman&st=15 Edited July 31, 2007 by Van Basten II Quote
Bright Moments Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 you know you will regret it if you don't order it. . . . . . . Quote
tranemonk Posted July 31, 2007 Author Report Posted July 31, 2007 I gotta tell ya... I don't sense a high degree of enthusiam on this board for this set.... you know you will regret it if you don't order it. . . . . . . Quote
king ubu Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 I'll take a pass... spent too much anyway, of late. Quote
B. Goren. Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Why do I have the feeling that this is falling into the same category for me as the Mobley set?? (I KNOW this will come as sacrilegious to some...) Nice to have but DEFINITELY not essential!... Even if you don't like 1950s Hank Mobley, the Mobley Mosaic is essential Yes!!! It is!!! Quote
Van Basten II Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Received mine today, marked number 2422 out of 5000. Is this another case whey they decided to cut their losses short ? Quote
king ubu Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Received mine today, marked number 2422 out of 5000. Is this another case whey they decided to cut their losses short ? What do you mean? I guess it's rather anotehr case of a license timing out way before the slated number of sets has been sold (same for Berigan, Bailey, Roach and any other I bought recently that was running low). Pretty sad that they seem to be unable to sell the actually planned number of sets in so many cases! Quote
Van Basten II Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Couldn't they renew the license or are they obligated to proceed that way. Quote
J.A.W. Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Couldn't they renew the license or are they obligated to proceed that way. The latter, as far as I know. Quote
BruceH Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 I would say skip it. Anything you really need can be had elsewhere and you could spend the money more productively. Chuck is right, of course. But I like the set. Quote

(I KNOW this will come as sacrilegious to some...) Nice to have but DEFINITELY not essential!... It depends on how much you like Mobley, naturally. For me the 50's Mobley set is as essential as vitamin C. Quote
sidewinder Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 This set has just gone into the 'Last Chance' category. Damn ! Quote
Bright Moments Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 This set has just gone into the 'Last Chance' category. Damn ! quick! pull the trigger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
tranemonk Posted August 12, 2007 Author Report Posted August 12, 2007 I caved at about 4:45pm on Friday.... Don't know if I'll be glad I have it or not... but I just couldn't let it go.... This set has just gone into the 'Last Chance' category. Damn ! Quote
jazzbo Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 I predict you're going to be glad you got it. I've got two copies now, one is going to be a gift. Quote
Swinging Swede Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 I'm still on the fence regarding this one. Should I get it, or spend the same amount on OOP Fantasy titles? Or do both, and if the Johnny Hodges and Gerald Wilson soon hit the endangered list not afford both of them? These are tough questions! Does anyone know how many copies are left? Quote
Swinging Swede Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 I didn't spring for it. I guess that if I want to get it in the future, it will probably not have increased as much in price as the OOP Fantasy titles I have been picking up instead. Some Fantasy titles are already going for over 100 €, and many more will go that way I suppose. Quote
tranemonk Posted August 22, 2007 Author Report Posted August 22, 2007 Haven't opened it yet.. but I think I'm glad I have it.... The Jazz Piano Moods set is gone. Quote
sidewinder Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Definite thumbs up so far on this set. Really enjoyed the Garner and Jamal material on disk 1 and the sound is great. Glad I got it. Quote
ASNL77 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 (edited) Haven't opened it yet.. but I think I'm glad I have it.... The Jazz Piano Moods set is gone. You haven't even checked that you haven't got two discs 4?! And yes, I agree about the Garner and Jamal CD is very very good! Edited September 5, 2007 by ASNL77 Quote
Brad Posted September 9, 2017 Report Posted September 9, 2017 I finally purchased this set, at a price probably cheaper than when Mosaic was selling it. In fact, it looked like it came from Mosaic as the cd cases were still sealed. Patience is a virtue. Quote
