paul secor Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Looks like Georgie Fame from back in the 60s. Quote
BillF Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 And you're right! So who's this? One of my favorite pickers. Eugene Chadbourne? One night in '83 he played his eletric garden rake for the seven of us in Athens' 40 Watt Club. Eugene Chadbourne it is. Haven't seen him since the mid-70s when he played for an even smaller audience - self and friend at friend's house in Calgary, Alberta where Eugene was then living. Quote
GA Russell Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 Looks like Georgie Fame from back in the 60s. Correct, Paul! Who would have thought back in 1965 that of all the rock acts he'd be one of the few still selling records in 2011! Quote
GA Russell Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 The thread has been quiet, so let's try this photo. Quote
paul secor Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Them? Don't know the others, but Van Morrison stands out. (At least I think it's he.) Edited August 12, 2011 by paul secor Quote
GA Russell Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 That was fast! That's correct, Paul, it's Them. The organist's name was Peter Bardens. He went on to record under his own name and be a founding member of Camel. Quote
bertrand Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 I did not recognize Bardens at all! Bertrand. Quote
GA Russell Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 See if you can recognize this lady! Quote
GA Russell Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Correct, Chuck! Esther Phillips it is! Quote
GA Russell Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Chuck, I'm not sure I knew that she sang with his band. I remember that they were both on Savoy though. Quote
Dave James Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 The thread has been quiet, so let's try this photo. Saw these guys at an outdoor concert in Eugene, Oregon. I believe the Doors were there as well. I was heavily medicated. Quote
GA Russell Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Anyone who isn't sure is welcome to guess post #286 since Chuck didn't give it away. Hint for post #290: He was an early bebopper. Quote
brownie Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Hint for post #290: He was an early bebopper. Curley Russell, by the Wolff Quote
