Benny Golson Quartet

I had to good fortune and pleasure to listen to the Benny Golson Quartet at the Jazz Standard (NYC) last night. If I am that lucid and spry at 80+ years young, then I will have lived a wonderful life. Enjoyable set which included a couple of standards, Domingo and Autumn Nocturne. Terrific stories. BG is so gracious. I approached him and shook his hand. He thanked me for coming out to listen. Does not get much better than that.

Such a nice person - I was lucky to meet him a few years ago when he was guesting with a local big band. Live long and prosper!

BGs gonna rock this town, tonite! one of the last true soulbrothers, in my genre of saxophone. i understand this and appriciate the magnititue of what it means for western culture

Hope I get to see him again. May his playing and music continue to flourish !

Just wish that they'd shown much more of his playing (instead of the rushed, short scene in the club) and given him an Oscar for that 'Terminal' movie.

For many years, Benny Golson has played at least once the year in my hometown. As you said it, fantastic! And such a great person. May he live another 100 years!
