mikelz777 Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) That's bizarre. I know the Lawrence Welk organization was pretty strict about any kind of impropriety among it's people. Maybe they were blinded by the upbeat, bouncy melody? Maybe they thought it was OK since Jesus' name was used? I wonder if they even knew what it meant to be "one toke over the line"? I'm guessing no. Edited March 21, 2014 by mikelz777 Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 I guess the producers had no clue. Funny. Quote
AllenLowe Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 reminds me of the Lenny Bruce routine about the junkie jazz musician whom Welk decides to hire. Quote

Rooster_Ties Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 Kristen Wiig is hysterical. Yes, but her "little doll hands" Welk Show bit used to creep me out big time. Overdone, and I couldn't believe they used the Well sketch as the cold-open once even. Quote
rostasi Posted December 31, 2016 Report Posted December 31, 2016 Since it's almost the New Year and there's been some reference to instrument destroying on the Red Norvo thread, I thought this may create some smiles: Rockin' Rocky Rockwell Quote
Ed S Posted December 31, 2016 Report Posted December 31, 2016 (edited) WTF was he thinking? Hysterically bad. BTW that Hound Dog up above is just plain creepy. Edited December 31, 2016 by Ed Swinnich Quote
