Soulstation1 Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 My Browns lucky to win 4 games this season No rbs / wrs on offense Cowboys not any better than us Pats still no D Think Colts might pull it out tonight vs Dever Quote
Matthew Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 I'm so freakin' pathetic in my belief that this week the Cowboys will finally put it together, I sucker pick them all the time. Quote
Stefan Wood Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 I support my team. But I was so damn angry after watching Washington lose to Houston........ Not giving up on RG3. It's the other teammates' mental errors that are driving me crazy. Quote

Homefromtheforest Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Longtime Seahawks fan here, and they looked pretty strong against the Packers last Thursday! Feels good after so many suffering years watching them since I can remember(early 80s at least) Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 8, 2014 Author Report Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) Watch for Kadeem Carey on the Bears! Could be the best running back I've ever seen from Tucson. It's only a matter of time before Forte gets hurt. Edited September 8, 2014 by Soulstation1 Quote

Stefan Wood Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 He's a necessary evil, unfortunately. At least Snyder has learned to back off and let others handle the football business. There's just a lot to fix still. At least he's not Jerry Jones. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 The Bears lost to Buffalo Grove High. The Bills have one of the best defensive units in the NFL. The Bears have one of the worst. That outcome was almost inevitable. Quote
mikelz777 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) The Vikes showed some nice defense in a dominating win against the Rams. I'm certain the Pats will be putting them to the test next week. Edited September 8, 2014 by mikelz777 Quote
Scott Dolan Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 That was the most shocking game of the day. I didn't doubt the Viking could, and probably would, beat the Rams. But the complete dismantling was shocking. Quote

Stefan Wood Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 He deserved punishment, but Roger Goodell and the NFL deserve blame for not handling this properly in the first place. It is now known that the NFL did not have access to the video that TMZ had back earlier this year; that they did not do due diligence in investigating the matter. They banned him to save their own skins, and that is shameful. He could have had a year long suspension with no financial compensation. Quote

Larry, the Bears should be a team that goes deep into the playoffs with the offensive firepower they have. IMO, they have the best on paper offense in the NFL this season. The Bills, OTOH, should not even sniff the playoffs, or even a winning record for that matter. But, more often than not, teams with great offense and little to no defense find themselves at the mercy of teams like Buffalo who still possess a pretty stout ground game, and a better-than-most-think defense. The Bills win was a pleasant surprise, but far from being shocking. Give me the team with excellent defense over the team with horrendous defense any day of the week. And twice on Sunday. Quote

Eh, ordinarily I'd agree. But, the Rams QB's are pretty similar across the board. Hell, many Rams fans thought Hill was an upgrade from Bradford. And while he may be (very, very slightly), I don't see Davis as that much of a downgrade from Hill. He may be as good as both Hill and Bradford from what I've seen. No, that was just a dominant defensive performance from Zimmer and crew. No surprise to say that, I suppose, but I honestly thought the Rams would be a decent enough team this year. They'd just end up with a bad record mostly because of the division they play in, even though I thought they had a shot at overtaking Arizona because of all the defensive injuries. Minny just plain made them look inept. Kudos... I'm guessing that's your team, and if so, I think they may give you a season to enjoy this year. I'm certainly not high on Cassel, nor should anyone be, but he has a ton of high powered weapons around him (not to mention perhaps th one OC that has the tools to make him look really good). They may not end up with a favorable record due to their division mates, but they should be fun as hell to watch. Edited September 8, 2014 by Scott Dolan Quote

The in elevator video? They couldn't have seen it unless someone leaked it to them. They're not a legal entity, and have no authority to make any demands. Not until they enter into a court case. That's the one thing that really pissed me off when Florio came out talking about how "easy" it was for the NFL to see that video, and that it was something he learned from the movie, My Cousin Vinny. He made it perfectly clear with that statement why he was a failed attorney. As far as "banned him to save their own skins, and that is shameful", you couldn't be more spot on, IMO. It's as I said elsewhere, the NFL and the Ravens got the greatest get out of jail free card I've ever seen. I'm just shocked they had the wherewithal to actually take advantage of it. Though, I guess in fairness we should call what they did "shameless" instead. Quote

It was mentioned by many people who had played and worked for the NFL -- officials, general managers, etc. Florio is an ass, but he is not alone in that view. The local Baltimore stations are on fire with this news. A guy working for CSN Baltimore, and also an ex Raven, had a long rant about how well networked and informed the NFL authorities are about the players, from top tier to those with "problems." It was mentioned that they employ ex FBI and CIA people for their own internal investigative purposes. He made it very clear that they could have gotten access, but chose not to do so. Whether how true that it all is, it is very clear that they had no provisions for punishing players who are physically abusive. Edited September 8, 2014 by Stefan Wood Quote
Scott Dolan Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 When I say due diligence, I mean that the NFL has the means to access the elevator video. No, they don't. Unless it was leaked. All security video taken is off limits to anyone who does not possess a subpoena, unless the owner grants them access to it. I don't give two shits who you send to retrieve it. Look, I work for a local drug rehab unit. We have cameras in our parking lots, and at least every other month the local Sheriff's department will come to us wanting to see video. They are politely shown the door. Keep in mind, these are sworn officers of the law, and legal authority. They possess the legal authority to arrest people for obstruction. And we send them on their way if they don't possess a subpoena. You know how loud we're going to laugh when someone shows up saying, "I'm from the NFL?!" If Rice had beaten his girlfriend in our parking lot, the NFL would have had zero access the video confirming it. Zero. Quote

OK, this explains some: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11493042/nfl-never-asked-casino-video-ray-rice-elevator-incident The NFL has shown to be a strange place with regards to management/employee relations. They show amazing diligence on finding out every nugget of information on a player before they even come into the league; they also quietly fix situational problems when players get into trouble. That they chose to turn a blind eye on this is damning to them. Edited September 9, 2014 by Stefan Wood Quote
