bertrand Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 Does anyone know the recording date and personnel? I can't find anything on the web. Thanks, Bertrand. Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Label? Record number? This has me stumped too ... the edition of Bruyninckx' discography I have does not list anything like that by him either. Edited November 11, 2014 by Big Beat Steve Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) It's a reissue of the original German CBS sessions for Now Jazz Ramwong done by the producer Hans Wewerka (IIRC, he and Horst Lippmann organized those CBS dates). Now Jazz Ramwong was legitimately reissued on CD by Jazzhus Disk a couple of years ago. The Wewerka CD is from 2000. The Pacific Jazz record released in the US has tracks from this and Tension interspersed (and is thus not the same as the German OG). Rec. info here. Bluesnik Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 It's a reissue of the original German CBS sessions for Now Jazz Ramwong done by the producer Hans Wewerka Wewerka? Didn't he have a label or a library? Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 He did, later on. Also produced records for CBS, Columbia/HorZu, FMP (actually just later issues of material he recorded in the mid-60s), Philips, etc. Quote
Bluesnik Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 He did, later on. Also produced records for CBS Thanks. I have a compilation of Wewerka material (pulled from its archives) on the German Sonar Kollektiv label. German and Europen 60s jazz. But I still don't know if it was a label or a sound library. clifford_thornton Posted November 14, 2014 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Sonar Kollektiv was a subsidiary of Musikverlag Hans Wewerka GmBH, from what I understand. Quote

Big Beat Steve Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks guys! Are these all Mangesldorff originals? Bertrand. Google is your friend: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_Jazz_Ramwong Quote
Bluesnik Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 http://www.sonarkollektiv.com/releases/SK019CD/ Yes, that's the one I have. And it looks like it was only German (not European) 60s jazz. I speak from memory, like always, (I don't even know where the CD is now) so I might get this wrong. Quote
