jlhoots
Out of stock at Amazon. Dusty Groove has never had it. I'm still waiting.
kh1958
You can order this directly from Uptown on their website.
Lazaro Vega
It is phenomenal.
Big Beat Steve
What's up with this non-availability through the easier accessible worldwide channels? Have Uptown changed their distribution setup and gone all in-house? Or is this just a temporary situation? Anybody have any idea? Thanx beforehand ... colinmce
I was wondering if there was an error or recall of some sort as it seemed to have been yanked. I guess not? I'll just place an order with Uptown then.
Chuck Nessa
I think the dealers just ran out of stock and are waiting for replacements. Place orders with confidence.
AllenLowe
just to mention, the 1952 Toronto concert, contrary to that article, has very decent sound.
Chuck Nessa
I agree, and it might be a bit more exciting, but the Uptown is a major release.
Larry Kart
I agree, and it might be a bit more exciting, but the Uptown is a major release. As I think I may have said, especially for Tristano's own playing.
AllenLowe
Larry - do you mean the Uptown?
Larry Kart
Larry - do you mean the Uptown? Yes. There's a lot of Tristano solo work there IIRC, and some it is sensational.
Quasimado
Willie Dennis was a hell of a musician - just amazing trombone - hearing him here made me pick up the Ronnie Ball (Savoy) which for some reason I had overlooked. Beautiful conception combined with a remarkable technique. What a loss! Q
kh1958
The sound on this is a lot better than I expected--it's one of the best Uptown releases.

T.D.
I preordered from Barnes & Noble last week (with a gift card I got for Christmas). No word of shipping yet.

scooby
Mine came about a week ago. Excellent playing all around with Willie Dennis a pleasant surprise for me. As others mentioned, sound is very good. A nice selection of repertoire stretched over 2 CDs. One thing that was distracting me was Lennie's comping for the soloists. To me, it seemed inflexible and not connected to what the soloists were doing (not that it seemed to bother them, however). I'll have to give it another listen. AllenLowe
it also might be the sound balance in the recording.

I'll go back and check, but that's the way Lennie comps IIRC. A small price to pay if one even feels that way. For me, his comping, a kind of sonic-rhythmic "wall," is part of the total effect. A Tristano who comped like, say, Tommy Flanagan or Wynton Kelly would have been impossible.
