Hubert and his brother Ronnie are two exceptionally gifted technical and expressive players, but with different interests and goals. I have neglected Hubert's CTI output for a long time and am revisiting it. There's some amazing music on these. This one and the second side of its predecessor, "The Crying Game," really give a 'seventies psychedelic fusion journey with a melding of classical, progressive sounding rock, and jazz. Smart arrangements and the pioneering electronic effects and their use by Laws and engineering really make for special soundscapes. Edited January 7, 2020 by jazzbo Quote
