5.  She is the hippest little girl, making up lyrics to Duke songs, requesting an obscure Duke song at preschool and requesting that I play Joe Pass and Sonny Stitt since before she was 3. 

We took her to see a piano trio in the vein of The 3 Sounds at a local library and she danced like a maniac in the front row.  The bassist and drummer kept laughing and came up to talk to her afterward.  I'm a lucky dad.

That's great stuff. You've taught her well.

My 3 year old is a funk monster. It's got to have rhythm.

I've got a 5 year old boy, but he has no strong views except that he likes jumping around.

Rusty Bryant Returns is a crowd pleaser around here, if you want some classic, funky soul jazz to get them moving.

Quite an adventurous listen with tablas, violin, cello, piano, guitar, some sax and flute and wordless vocals. Wow. The usual excellent sound from Adventure Music as well.

I really don't think I had any Fats Waller other than the very recently acquired session from the Freeman/Condon Mosaic and the Louisiana Sugar Babies session from the James P. Johnson Mosaic.  I decided to dive in with both feet and grab this volume.
