I just finished making a permanent resting place for my dear Fiona the miniature dachshund near one of her favorite spots in the back yard. She stopped eating and drinking two days ago, and we made an appointment with the vet’s for a probable termination for 11:00 a.m. and true to her self-determined nature she decided to pass away peacefully in her dog bed at 9:30 a.m. She was a BIG part of my life, I’m really going to miss her, but we gave her a full life and she did not seem in pain, just drifted away. She was such a character! I miss her already.

I’m playing this disc. . . she always settled down and took a nice snooze whenever I would. And it’s comfort music for me.

Me too.

Just catching up with this really sad news, I'm sorry to hear that Fiona will no longer be there to enjoy her listening sessions with you. For some reason the mentions of her in your posts always brought a smile to my face.

A great companion departed, but on her own terms, and I hope your memories of all those hours together bring some solace.

And what a great musical tribute to her too. An album I only recently discovered (I know) due to your enthusiasm for it here.

Thank you. It was odd this morning to wake up and not be woken up. It will take some adjusting for a while.

Excellent pick 😍 Nicolas Simion plays some excellent tenor here!

Yep.  Simion sorta "steals the show."  Although Mal sounds great too, of course.  ;)

Another cold morning. One day it will be the warmer part of spring!

Starting off with some Brazilian jazz to warm things up and burst a little cloud of melancholy.

Mario Adnet “Saudade Maravilhoso”

A beautiful recording.
