Rabshakeh Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 Colin Wilkie, Shirley Hart, Albert Mangelsdorff, Joki Freund – Wild Goose What a bizarre record. A British folk singing duo and then the cream of German free jazz. It is like a non-parody version of that record Vic Reeves did with Evan Parker. Quote
jazzbo Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 “Don Goldie’s Jazz Express” Jazzology LP Goldie was an amazing trumpeter! So sad he was not with us longer. Quote

jazzbo Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 Starting off with a great 2 cd set from 2023 that sort of got lost in the shelves. Brian Blade “Lifecycles, Vols. 1-2: Now! and Forever More Honoring Bobby Hutcherson” Brian Blade - drums and background vocals Rogerio Boccato - percussion Jon Cowherd - piano, wurlitzer and background vocals Monte Croft - vibraphone, marimba and lead vocals John Hart - guitar Myron Walden - flute, tenor and alto saxophone and bass clarinet Doug Weiss - bass This is a wonderful tribute to “Now!” and other Bobby Hutcherson musics. And great engineering as well. Quote

Gheorghe Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 It got bad writeups, but I love it very much. One of my favourite tunes is "Duke´s Choice". At least, last night was magic with that album spinning..... Quote
