They didn't play at very many places because of various logistics, but this Tokyo gig was a big thing. I tend to like it more than the African gig they had a couple years earlier in "Zaire" because they (and the concert organizers and audience) were more pre-occupied by the spectacle of the "Rumble in the Jungle" shenanigans. jazzbo Posted May 18 Report Posted May 18 A very interesting duet session by two masters. Vitchev is new to me, Iago has been a favorite for a while. Before purchasing any Morris, I heard the "Treasure Box" (though not in that format) recordings of Alan Silva's HR 57 material and thought the results merited more listening. Yess, quite. But if I have one criticism, it's that the endings too often seem arbitrary and maybe too long in coming. Quote

Is there a connection with the classic jazz label Good Time Jazz? Is it a tribute or something sort of licence deal? Edited May 19 by Rabshakeh Quote

jazzbo Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 The day is starting off even a little cooler than yesterday, but it should be about as warm as yesterday, but sunnier. That sun will be welcome! Popped in another volume in this excellent songbook series from Lumiar Records. “Songbook Vinicius De Moraes Vol. 3” Quote
