Rabshakeh Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Vijay Iyer / Wadada Leo Smith – Defiant Life Certainly better than anticipated from the conjunction of Iyer, Smith and ECM. There are sections that I enjoy a lot and it helps that there is some 00s EAI DNA in there (and that it is Iyer taking his hands off the piano in order to supply it for so much of the record). 57 minutes ago, rostasi said: Random Radio 250521 (464) Memphis Slim - You Got to Help Me Some Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson - Bonus Pay Mose Vinson - Come See Me (My Love Has Gone) Josh White - Trouble Prince Albert Hunt's Texas Ramblers - Blues in a Bottle Leadbelly - Good Morning Blues Homesick James Williamson - Got to Move Casey Bill Weldon - Guitar Swing Allman Brothers Band - Statesboro Blues Robert Johnson - Come on in My Kitchen Sonny Boy Williamson - Don’t Start Me Talkin’ Blind Willie Johnson - Praise God I'm Satisfied Bobby Wall - Baby It's Too Much Charley Patton - I Shall Not Be Moved Procol Harum - Whisky Train Lightnin’ Hopkins - Catfish Blues Sleepy John Estes - Someday Baby Blues Volker Lankow & Geoff Gersh - Manhattan Bleekman Place Otis Rush - Groaning the Blues Johnny O'Neal - Johnny's Dream Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore with The Guilty Ones - Southwest Chief Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse - Satisfy Your Queen Eliza Neals - Something's Better Than Nothing Markus K - C C Rider Buffalo Nichols - You're Gonna Need Somebody On Your Bond Mallard - A Piece of Me Robert Finley - Tell Everybody Dan Auerbach - Every Chance I Get (I Want You In The Flesh) Sebastian Rochford & Soumik Datta - In Slow City Do you have to enter a prompt for these or something? I'm not sure I understand the question. Sometimes, I'll do special shows for the community. This weekend is the Silver City Blues Fest, so this show is in celebration of that. Quote

I assumed because of the name and the fact that you posted it here that it was some sort of algorithmically generated playlist to which you were listening, designed to showcase great eclectic music. This one wasn't as eclectic as they normally and had quite a strong core theme, hence why I asked. I hadn't realised you had put them together. Edited 4 hours ago by Rabshakeh Quote

Well, after putting them together in bits and pieces, I like listening to the full thing to hear how it flows. In this case, I'm just re-living Wednesday's show because the Festival just started about 40 minutes ago. At the beginning of this year, I started posting them - with audio - over on Substack (below) starting with show #444. Quote
