Yeah, going into round 3 of this Lacy thing, I think it's become an "instant all-time favorite". I have a lot (but by no mean A LOT) of Lacy, and this one is really right in there.

Great ! This together with "One Step Beyond". That Group McLean, Moncur, Hutcherson was great. Once I saw Jackie McLean together with Bobby Hutcherson, Herbie Lewis and Billy Higgins.

Now listening to the first CD in this 2-disc set:

First released as Live at the Village Vanguard (Muse, 1980).  

I wish 32 Jazz would have used the original cover for the reissue.  It's one of the best Muse cover images, IMO:

If the repertoire makes it look like it's going to be a totally inside date, with those people, well, it is. Fagan might be a little subsumed by the quality of his band, but that's ok. They are playing very well indeed.
