The latter disc includes a track omitted from the Storyville - "Cisum", (11:00).

This must be great. I love everything that was so called "Free Jazz", not the european free jazz and not the white free jazz, but the classic masters like Ornette, Trane, Pharoah, Ayler, and Shepp and of course Sun Ra.

Now listening: Coltrane: Expression

The Long Lost Bird Live Afro-Cubop Recordings, principal, 1 de 10

Sounds interesting.

I have only one Afro Cubop and that´s on Spotlite. It´s mainly Howard McGhee and Brew Moore with Machito Orchestra, and on Side B there is three tunes with Bird, one is a very very romantic slow rhumba tune titled "Reminiscing at Twilight" that I never heard anywhere else.

So....is this other Afro Cubop that I may not have heard ?

Another dry morning, rain yesterday but not overnight. Cool and quiet. Just how I like it.

Decided to hear some Joe Henderson and he’s really “on” for this one and its companion cd.

Joe Henderson “Four” Verve cd.

Joe Henderson – tenor saxophone
Wynton Kelly – piano
Paul Chambers – bass
Jimmy Cobb – drums

Recorded at Left Bank Jazz Society, Baltimore, MD on April 21, 1968

An intriguing performance and such a well-engineered live recording.
