ejp626 Posted October 5, 2011 Report Posted October 5, 2011 So in addition to Herb Geller's Fire in the West (which seems to be the same as That Geller Feller), I got Two of a Kind, which is a compilation of the EmArcy LPs of Herb and Lorraine Geller. Looks pretty interesting, even though I am not terribly familiar with Geller. Kind of a lesser known figure over here at least (probably a lot better known in Germany). Quote

Thanks for the info, Bob. Quite a lot of overlap there. I think I'll stick with my little collection, perhaps adding a CD or two to it in the future. Quote

I think I'll stick with my little collection, perhaps adding a CD or two to it in the future. Bill, I know what you mean. Quite a bit of the material was reissued over here on vinyl by Verve in the 1970s - especially the stuff with Sonny Criss and Sweets Edison. Philips also reissued 'Big Swing Face' - so I already had lots of this set on the black stuff. Good for the I-Pod though ! Quote
BillF Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Have never owned this before on CD, having bought it on vinyl on its release in 1960 and parted company with it a few years later. At £2.74 including shipping for an as-new copy, can't go wrong! (Channel Islanders, of course!) Quote
