Between their in-house "Jazz Dispensary" series and Zev Feldman's reissues, it appears that (at least SOME) of the Muse catalog will be made available again. 12 hours ago, felser said: One item 32Jazz got totally right. All four Muse albums on 2 CD's: Yeah, that's an excellent set. Since I have it, I won't be ordering the vinyl. (The CDs are perfectly sufficient for me.) But I'm still glad that the vinyl issue will be available for others. Also, I think Perception is the strongest of the four albums in that set. Edited August 28 by HutchFan Quote

I was totally unaware of Catalyst before this thread appeared last night. QUESTION: What would be the second strongest of those four albums?? I streamed most of Perception on my walk into work this morning, and i was pretty much blown away by it — YOWZA!! Quote

Sorry @Rooster_Ties, I'd have to listen to all four of them again to offer an informed opinion. I only remember that I'd liked Perception best. That said, just about anything with Odean Pope is worth hearing, IMO. Quote
HutchFan Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 (edited) After some (re)listening, I'd likely rate their first album -- Catalyst (Cobblestone, 1972) -- as their second strongest LP after Perception. It's available on YT. Listen for yourself and let me know if you agree! Edited August 28 by HutchFan Quote

JSngry Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 I find the last two to be compromised by an overt (as opposed to organic) appeal to commercialism. Still, heck of a band! Quote

howard.zinman Posted August 31 Report Posted August 31 I wonder why this wasn't a part of muse masters? Is Jazz Dispensary the same guy as the Muse Masters Maestro? Quote

Is Jazz Dispensary the same guy as the Muse Masters Maestro? No, Jazz Dispensary is a Craft Recordings reissue label. The Jazz Disepnsary Top Shelf Series has been around since 2017 and their releases are of exceptional quality. Here is more about them. https://jazzdispensary.com/about/ Quote
Pim Posted August 31 Report Posted August 31 Ah I didn’t notice they will come out in these series. I’ve got a few of them and they are excellent. No silly limited edition kind off stuff but very well done and affordable reissues. Quote
barnaba.siegel Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago I'm wondering how the master-transfer will sound like. On Porter Records anthology "The Complete Recordings vol. 1" it's a bit mushy and distorted here and there. Quote
