kinuta Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 0C, windy, very cold, icy pavements. Quote
makpjazz57 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 South of Boston -snow as of 9:00 a.m., but seems to be turning to the wet kinda snow pretty fast. We've been having some strange weather here in the Boston area this year. One day, we get a spring-like tease of 55 degree weather and then it turns on ya and all of a sudden we're back to winter temps of 30 degrees. Marla Quote
7/4 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 rain, rain. please go away. don't come back another day. Quote
Stereojack Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Snowing like hell right now, and I'm getting ready to head out into it! "Blue Monday, how I hate Blue Monday....." Quote
catesta Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 It's going to be a beautiful day tomorrow. Sunny and in the mid 50s. A perfect day to go and see Charles Tolliver and his big band! Quote
frank m Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 Yup---here in the NYC/Long Island area it has so far been an incredibly warm winter. I know you shouldn't let the fairies hear you say that, but there's no getting around it. Okay by me, but this global warming is no hoax. Quote
catesta Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Things have changed. It's been cold all week. Looks like Saturday we will get the biggest snow storm of the year. Quote
chris olivarez Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Got up to 54 degrees today. Currently 28 degrees. Quote
John L Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I have been in Moscow, Russia since the New Year, and we have been in a constant DEEP freeze, the coldest winter on record for 100 years. I walked 30 minutes to work today. BRRRRR Quote

catesta Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 They say we can expect 8-12 inches of snow here. A blizzard warning is in effect until Sunday. Quote
makpjazz57 Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I think the Boston area is looking at as much, if not more than NYC. Living near the Cape, sometimes we miss getting the heavy duty snowfall. Then again, I have some pics of some serious snow surrounding our house! Last weather report I saw was calling for 8 -14 inches of snow. The other drag is that almost every time we've had either a snowstorm or some kind of high winds in the past 6 months, we've had power outages. Not fun... Marla Quote
catesta Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 The snow be here! Looks like we're gonna get it pretty good. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 The snow be here! Looks like we're gonna get it pretty good. So, is that a Catesta truck? Do you profit from other folks problems? Quote
Stereojack Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Weather people are saying 6-12 inches of the white stuff starting about midnight. Fortunately I don't have to leave the house tomorrow! Quote
catesta Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Fortunately I don't have to leave the house tomorrow! Wish I could say the same. I'm sitting in the office as I type this. We'll be working until late tomorrow afternoon cleaning this up. Why the hell did I move back here? Honestly, it's not so bad, and the snow is good for business. Quote
makpjazz57 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 We're ready - plenty of food in the house, a snow blower, shovels. Now, if the power will stay on this time, we'll be in good shape! S'posed to hit outside of the Boston area sometime after midnight. I'm near the Cape and it ain't gonna be pretty. Then again, it will be pretty; just a pain in the you-know-what! Marla Quote
catesta Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 (edited) The snow be here! Looks like we're gonna get it pretty good. So, is that a Catesta truck? Do you profit from other folks problems? hehe Just a pic I googled. It looks about the same as what we run though. And yes, there is money to be made in snow. I'm only learning this winter, but next year watch out, I've got big plans to take this market over. The downside to all this snow crap is having to go out in it. I guess I could just let the guys go and call them from time to time, but right now it only seems fair that I'm around with them. Although I don't think they give a shit. There happy as can be. Snow removal on the weekends and after hours pays big bucks. This one will be bad enough for me to have to get in a truck and plow. Edited February 12, 2006 by catesta Quote
frank m Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Just started here on Long Island with a light dusting. If it hurries up the most of it will be on its way to you in New England. Quote

You must be out east a ways? I'm in Garden City and it's been snowing on and off since around 5:00 PM. The grass is covered, but it's not anyhwere near sticking to the roads yet. Quote
Harold_Z Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 (edited) Same in Passaic. My gig got cancelled and I'm glad. I wasn't looking forward to the ride home. Edited February 12, 2006 by Harold_Z Quote

makpjazz57 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Well, I hope you guys don't get hit too hard out in Garden City. Will be interesting to hear folks' reports late tonight and for us in New England, tomorrow morning and afternoon! Marla Quote
