king ubu Posted August 13, 2014 Report Share Posted August 13, 2014 Some nice surprises here ... my taste has changed so much so in the meantime (since my last listen a few years ago) that I really enjoy the Ramparts Street Paraders this time. Matlock/Miller are mighty good (I've had a soft spot for Miller for a long time though, ever since first hearing him on the Classic Capitol set by Mosaic) and there's some pretty good stuff by others, too - George van Eps most notably (i.e. Monday Date). Still not that big on Dorsey, I'm afraid ... but I remembered the more than two discs of Ramparts as the least interesting segment of the box and it's a pleasant surprise to listen to it again!
