My vote goes to Dr. Jonas Salk.

Unlike some scientists who sought wealth or fame accompanying their innovations, Salk stated "'Who owns my polio vaccine? The people! Could you patent the sun?"

I thought George Bush was the greatest American that ever lived. Or was it Dick Cheney? I can't remember even though the T.V. keeps telling me. These are heady times we live in.

Some questions:

Are non americans allowed to vote?

Were Sitting Bull, Cochise and Geronimo "americans"?

Spyro Gyra.

Moose.... I thought we were tight.. :(

:D

Oh, okay; a serious answer. I don't know about "greatest" but one great American would be Eugene V. Debbs.

Second that nomination! Mr. Debs hailed from just up the road--Terre Haute. I'm driving over there to visit his house around the Fourth of July.
