Hardbopjazz
My copy of Joe Henderson's Tetragon stopped playing. When I put in my CD drive on my computer, the CD/DVD burning software pops up and asks what I want to write to the disc. The CD doesn't play in my stereo CD player. I have had CDs go bad, but never one where my computer thinks it is a blank disc.
David Ayers
Hm. Maybe try burning to it and see what happens?
Kevin Bresnahan
I've had a similar thing happen when my CD drive was dying. Try it in another drive and see what happens. It was because of this that I went onto eBay and bought a couple of extra original Plextor CD-R drives.

If so, try playing it on other CD players and computers; you may find one that can play it. Also, if you have Roxio Toast or similar, try to make an exact copy of the disc onto a blank; the blank might then play.
Hardbopjazz
I tried cleaning the disc, that didn't help. In fact, if I hold the disc up to a light, there are several pinholes in the disc.
bogdan101
Pinholes shouldn't be a problem; try to see if can be read by any computer you and/or your friends and relatives have access to. If not, time to hit ebay/discogs/amazon/...
sonnymax
I doubt it's a drive problem, since you say the CD is unplayable in your computer and your CD player. Try copying the disc to your computer hard drive (right click copy/save to a new, empty folder on your desktop), then see if any of the music files appear. Good luck. Hardbopjazz
It's a dead disc. I tried in my car and didn't work. I can't make a copy, my two computers at home think it is a blank disc.
Rooster_Ties
It's a sign that you need the Milestone Years box.

Rooster_Ties
I *love* practically the entire Henderson Milestone box. Very underrated, me thinks, at least in certain circles.
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez
how old is this cd? is this some kind of pre OJC issue of this? pinholes shouldnt affect the cds performance. but if it has those, id be really surpised if it was the ojc issue, those cds are way too new to have pinholes in them. ive never seen a cd made after 1987 have the pinholes before. JSngry
What is meant by "pinholes? If the reflective surface/coating/whatever has been damaged to where you can see all the way through the disc from the "label" side, the isn't that a fundamental problem right there? Laser has an escape, does not return, much like an ill-treated dog and a hole under the fence, or some such.
Daniel A
I've noticed this kind of holes on some CD:s from the 80s. I always thought it was a manufacturing defect, although it seems that the built-in error correction of the CD player normally is able to handle it. David Ayers
I want to know, now, why this CD won't play! Still, a good excuse to purchase the 2012 Japanese issue...

Gheorghe
had the same problem once: First, one particular CD didn´t play, then more followed. It was the laser light from the CD player. Got another CD Player and there was no problem any more.
