I think that this Voyage from Jericho reissue will do well, and it might be worth mentioning this cassette material to the proprietor of Frederiksberg. Tyler has also been strangely absent from the NoBusiness CD "loft archive" series and perhaps they'd like to know about some of these recordings.

So, What Are You Listening To NOW?
clifford_thornton replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous Music
Nice one indeed. Bjarne Boman is the only one I was not super familiar with upon buying the reissue. There's a really strong version of Strandberg's tune "Cirrus" on the Red Mitchell album Communication, on which Bertil also plays (though I'm unsure if the drummer on that record, Göran, is Bertil's brother... presumably?). -
Really enjoying this one. Never heard of anyone involved so it's totally new although it's from '73. Album is Cirrus by Bertile Strandberg's Quintet. Great sound and grooves. This is a pic of the rear cover, chosen for the band photos.

Seeing this in the "what are you listening to now" thread, I took a chance on it and bought it. On its way

I digitized the Joanne Grauer show awhile back and can send you the files. It is excellent and it didn't need pitch correction. Let me know your email and I can send the music, I have to go downstairs to find the CDR. -

Honestly Ken, I think it’s too much hassle for you and for them. My experience on the odd occasion when I’ve received a duplicate order is that the firm doesn’t really care whether they get it back or not. To them, it’s just one of the screw-up’s that happens once in a while. Cost of doing business. That seems to be the vibe you’re getting from them. But I wouldn’t sell the recordings, either. Gift them to a jazz- loving friend.

I bought them in the first half of the seventies, both Tetragon and Canyon Lady, listen to them on USB stick. Actually, the first Joe Henderson LP I had was Canyon Lady. All Milestones albums, all of them, each artist....they were great and a great part of the top acts on jazz festivals were "Milestone Stars".

Disc Three originally issued as... Stompin, my memory is pretty vague on this. My recollection is that EMI issued three or four similar box sets in the mid-'90s, each called "60 Great Jazz Classics.". Each box had four CDs, and sold for $19.99. A very low price in those days. I wish I had bought them all. I bought the one "For Lovers." I see these on Amazon.
