Maybe on to something, that could be a 2-CD set.

This is forthcoming soon and I'm curious to read it. I know a bio was out ~15 years ago, and I probably should give that one a read as well. That was before her recent bump in popularity, exhibition in LA, etc.. https://www.jazztimes.com/reviews/books/book-review-cosmic-music-the-life-art-and-transcendence-of-alice-coltrane/?v=0b3b97fa6688 For anyone in the Hudson Valley, there'll be a book reading/signing co-presented by Tubby's and Rough Draft Books on Thursday, April 2 (FREE). I'll play some relevant recordings before and after. Hope to see you there, and also feel free to chime in with thoughts on the volume/s if you have any.

Thank you! Although, am I missing something or is there no individual Savoy/Denon disc that features the Tiny Grimes Quintet sides?

Wayne Shorter rarities in Poland 2PM EST 3/21

I only figured it out by using the translator. I got lucky. Hopefully it will be archived. The setlist was: Moto Grosso Feio N.E.W.S. Nature Boy MacArthur Park Who Needs Forever? Legend Antigua Universe The first five were arrangements written for Lee Morgan, but no one knows when he was supposed to play or record them. We may never know. The last 3 are related to Miles. Legend was played at UCLA in May 1967 by the Gary McFarland Orchestra. Neither Miles or Wayne played on it, as far as I can tell. Antigua was played by Miles and Gil at Berkeley in 1968. Universe was played by Wallace Roney, but he may have been the first. The conductor was saying these were all premieres, but not the last 3. - Yesterday

I had a hard time navigating that site. Maybe they'll post a link to a recording of the show? -

Let's not overthink this. Such as set would only need to be constructed by the individual user, pulled out of a "complete" set. Simple as that All of the richness of Bird with none of the "redundancy" of consecutive takes of the same tune. So buy a/some complete sets, then chop it/them up.. Win/win!!!!!
