  4. Played Joshua Redman "Walking Shadows" and now playing "Compass." It took me a while but I really like his playing.
  5. One of the reasons why Rocket 88 gets so much attention was an accident. One of the amplifiers blew out and created an unexpected distortion in the bass, which sounded like....Rock and Roll, or at least different than the song that they based it on: Jimmy Liggins' Cadillac Boogie.

  13. Yowza! Good stuff. Lenny raises the roof. The Cathedral of Saint-Louis-des-Invalides, where Berlioz premiered the Requiem in 1837. It's also where Bernstein conducted his performance, recorded in 1975.
