  2. Nice find . . . probably my favorite Shakti album! NP: Disc 1
  3. Yes, the collection is limited, but this is not the reality in our homes 😂 ...
  4. Jazz is Dead 3, Marcos Valle
  5. But couldn't you just wait until the end of the season and order a whole set of the cards from Post? I could have sworn I did that one year.
  6. But the Kellogg's cards were inside the box. The Post cards were on the back of the box. Scissor technique came to the fore!
  7. I'm gonna wait for the lyrics. Color me skeptical, nut not unmovable so.
  8. Fascinating. But the way it looks there seems to be no chance of expanding the collection. Potentially sounding treasure with look at it only.
  9. I have never seen so many tributes, obituaries etc. on facebook - he really was universally loved and respected.
  10. I do have that one. Thanks.
  11. I think I have the wrong CD cover, even inserted twice...
  12. Well, my new dog makes it impossible to use my laptop while he and I share the listening chair, so I didn’t get to chronicle my morning listening until now. It’s nice and cool this morning, and though most leaves have not turned their color to their autumn coat, leaves and acorns have fallen, making for a nice walk Memphis and I shared. I’m back now, he’s in the kitchen with Lucinda, and the system is warmed up and sounding fantastic! I started off with Dave Young Quintet “Mostly Mingus.” This is a live recording that very well captures the spirit and drive of a Mingus unit while also being up to date in its structure and soloing. 500×500 65.3 KB And now I’m playing Yazz Ahmed’s latest, “A Paradise in the Hold”–a great recording of her distinctive sounding musical collage. This keeps unveiling little delicate nuggets of music.
  13. How about "This is not just a new album- it is a legacy in the making", for an 82 year old master who has released tons of great recordings over his career? The legacy is already firmly in place.
  14. I preferred the Kellogg's 3D baseball cards to the Post baseball cards. I had a ton of those Kellogg's cards but sadly, the plastic always cracked and often peeled off after a short time.
  15. Mark Feldmans Secrets. A Tzadik favorite ❤️
  16. For as long as I can remember, tape deck & tape recorder have been synonymous. I think what Joe Harley was saying is that Capitol feed their audio to two tape recorders. One deck's/recorder's tape was used to create an LP master that was used to cut the LP record while the other deck's/recorder's tape was put away, meaning shelved. In this case, it sounds like the second machine's tape was chopped up into smaller pieces and stored as "phono reels". The "assembled" part of this may be part of the confusion. The master tape for "In The Wee Small Hours" was made from five different recording sessions, so some assembly was required.
  17. 50 cent Japan disc find from thriftstore
  18. Hampton Hawes with Denny Diaz, Sonship Theus and an unidentified bass player...
