Damn, that's right about the 15th, thanks for the reminder. I overlooked the Ted Daniel event. But the Lace Mill is half the travel, so that's probably what I'll go for.

Time will tell I suppose, but the label seems to be headed in a fairly wan direction now. I'll certainly keep my eye out, but it's been quite awhile since they've released much of interest to me at least.

Regarding Saturday, Its a toss up for me between the above concert or Burnt Sugar at The Local in Saugerties or the Daniel-Marcus concert in Poughkeepsie. BTW-I have the dates wrong in the subject line-should be 14th and 15th.

Yeah, recognized the history was not complete. Didn't realize it was sold this past summer. On a different note, I understand that the single cd reissues of what were originally 2 Hat Hut lps did not contain all the music that was on those 2 lps.

It's beginning to look like I'll never get a chance to see/hear Cory Weeds up my way. He's getting as far south as TX but stops at NYC when he heads north. Weeds and Grant Stewart are two tenor players I'd like to see live and I've had no luck for a long while now.

Interesting piece, though it does leave out a fair amount of the label's history -- it was actually founded to release music by McPhee in Europe, and then quickly shifted to encompass other music. McPhee and Craig Johnson were involved with Hat Hut and handled distribution in the US early on (Johnson), as well as A&R (McPhee). Craig had started CjR to document McPhee, and Nation Time is what inspired Werner to start Hat Hut.

This is a good one that I haven't pulled off the shelves in a long time. This was one of my best "dollar bin" finds back at the old defunct Looney Tunes store in Harvard Square.

Anybody bought this? I guess it's a typical Cherry Red quality, but I'd like to hear what's the quality of BBC sessions and learn something about the booklet. Anyone?
