  1. Past hour
  2. Criterion has reissued Charlotte Zwerin's film "Thelonious Monk Straight No Chaser" on DVD and it's 1/2 price at Amazon right now. I remember when this was out of print and they were asking big bucks for a used DVD at Amoeba.
  3. Trying something beautiful and focused with this little window of time to myself. . . . Carmen McRae “Alone – Live at the Dug” JVC XRCD24
  4. Today
  5. +1. I have an ancient burn of this of unknown origin, but the download would both upgrade the fidelity and legitimize the ownership. If a decently priced CD appeared on the used market, I'd jump on it. Bummed that this continues the recent trend of not offering CD releases of desirable reissues.
  6. Charlie Parker, Plays Cole Porter (Verve) Duke Ellington Orchestra, 1941 (Alamac)
  7. George Lewis with George Guesnon's New Orleans Band, Endless the Trek, Endless the Search (American Music)
  8. Download for me then.
  9. Disc one, small pieces Bach, Handel, Saint-saens, Popper, Campagnoli, Schumann, De Falla, Catalan Folk Music etc.
  10. Digital and vinyl: https://frederiksbergrecords.bandcamp.com/album/voyage-from-jericho-1 I got the Bleu Regard CD from 1995 bit I'm in for the vinyl.
  11. Red Rodney - Red Giant (Steeplechase)
  12. Up early as Lucinda has an early PT appointment and I’ll soon have to shovel and clear some snow. But first a little listening. “Earl Hines,” Storyville cd 400×398 23.5 KB
  13. Ts-find from bin. This is great ! Unexpectedly ... I understand people call this a gem.
  14. Interesting! Have this one
  15. Some things I take into consideration: A lot of these artists are there nearly every year, so I might lower their priority. But it doesn't make missing them any less painful [Ches Smith, Mary Halvorson, Tyshawn Sorey, Zorn, Ribot, Caroline Shaw, James Brandon Lewis] And of course scheduling logistics can make a difference (Bijou to the Mill & Mine is a long trek)
  16. "The new album is a widescreen exploration of hope, memory, and resilience that features contributions from Aimee Mann ('Til Tuesday), Mike Mills (R.E.M.), Andy Partridge (XTC), Jason Falkner (Jellyfish), Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), Pat Sansone (Wilco), Mitch Easter (Let's Active), Chris Stamey (The dB's) and more."
  17. I don’t think the label does cds so vinyl only probably but not sure
  18. CD or vinyl?
