  1. Past hour
  2. I may have misrepresented my description above - the SQ of the set is excellent - I was referring to the name of the company ie MIG - "Made In Germany" as being pedestrian
  3. I have several rock CD/DVD sets recorded at Rockpalast on the MIG label, and the sound quality on them is fine.
  4. From the excellent 1972 LP, 'Life, Love, and Faith' with the Meters.
  5. One of the long awaited (IMHO) digital releases has been Friedrich Gulda's "Nachricht Vom Lande" double LP originally on the German Brain label (Neu!, Guru Guru, Harmonia etc). A significant release in the Cecil Taylor discography but also includes Albert Mangelsdorff, John Surman, Barre Phillips, Stu Martin & Ursula Anders The festival (Tage Freier Musik) recorded over 4 days in August '76 at the Moosham Castle in Austria has been released as a double CD on the pedestrian sounding German label MIG (made in Germany) - appears to be associated with the Moosicus label A thunderstorm added to (or detracted) the ambiance of some of the recordings, hence the title of one track Mooshamer Begegnungen (Fortsetzung) "Das Gewitter" (Moosham Encounters (continued): The Thunderstorm Phillip Freeman discusses this release in his recent CT publication (p 166-169) BTW, Cecil Taylor also perfomed a solo concert during (Aug 20) at this festival, the full version released on CD ("Air Above Mountains")
  6. Today
  7. This set and the previously released Select are desert island discs for me. Do wish they had expanded the big box to include Now, Head-On, Natural Illusions, etc. Different settings but all good.
  8. Because they're hot dogs.
  9. snake in paradise, put up a parking lot.
  10. Weird seeing a thread started by Soulstation1 (Jeff). We haven't heard from him since he got Covid years ago. I wonder if he's still with us?
  11. I hope this video does not violate the "no political discussion" vibe:
  12. Yesterday
  13. Weber Iago “Os Filhos Do Vento:Children of the Wind” Adventure Music cd I find Iago to be an intriguing pianist, I’ll pick up any of his leader or sideman dates. This has the usual excellent Adventure Music sound.
  14. Dvorak - String Quartets No.9 and No.14 - Delme Quartet
  15. Médéric Collignon: Arsis Thesis. Le Triton TRI-23574 [France 2024]
  16. Miles Davis “Bitches Brew” Mobile Fidelity One Step, LP 1 454×454 48.5 KB I really hesitated but I’m glad I went for this, the sound is really good. Miles Davis “Bitches Brew” Mobile Fidelity One Step, LP 1 I really hesitated but I’m glad I went for this, the sound is really good.
  17. Enrico Pieranunzi / Marc Johnson / Joey Baron: Deep Down. Soul Note SNGG001-2 [Italy 2016]
  18. The Japanese pressing is rarer, especially with the obi.
  19. Frisky, with plenty of subtle quirk! Glad to see that the Epic art department wasn't spending money unnecessarily...
  20. Preservation Brass, For Fat Man (Sub Pop)
