  3. I went out to Discogs, and threw copies of the Bluiett CD from four or five sellers into my cart, to explore adding other CD's to an order of it to optimize postage. I came back some hours later, and two of the copies of the Bluiett CD had sold in the interim! Surely other members here jumping on it 🙂. BTW, I agree with Thom that I'm not always in onh Bluiett's recordings. He had a tendency to go self-consciously retro/gimmicky at times, and I found those to be tedious. But when he was good, he was very good!
  4. Finished Untamed. Dope Girls - HULU
  5. I saw that group way back in January of 1984, at the Caravan of Dreams.
  6. Today
  7. Quest [D. Liebman, R. Beirach, G. Mraz, A. Foster] - Quest (Trio JP/Palo Alto Jazz, 1982)
  8. Irene Kral - Angel Eyes ; Live in Tokyo
  9. I went to the final day of the Old Trafford test last Sunday. First test match for 40 years, and the forecast rain never arrived. Not sure I'd do it again - very busy, huge queues for refreshments, and we had to shoot off a few overs early to avoid an hour waiting to be able to get on the tram to head home. The India fans (probably more than half of the crowd) had a ball, with three centurions to cheer, and a very good performance to bat out the draw. I saw this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudhir_Kumar_Chaudhary I'd never heard of him - it was an Indian chap sat next to me who told me all about him.
  10. Attila Zoller - Memories of Pannonia (Enja, 1986)
  11. If something happens to this forum and you happen to be on Facebook, Michael Weil started a group there to update people about outages. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1884381011698498 Kevin
  12. Stanley Cowell, Musa, Ancestral Streams (Strata East/Mack Avenue)
  13. Holy smokes this was good. I seriously regret that it took me so long to get to it. Definitely need to seek out a few of these. Regarding Dick Griffin, since Thom is too modest to shamelessly self-promote, I'll do it. We did a couple of gigs with Eddie Gale and Dick Griffin almost 20 years ago now (!) and here is some of the evidence. (note: don't bother trying the links in the bottom left of the video, they no longer exist)
  14. I happen to be watching that DVD myself. Now listening:
  15. One for All “Too Soon to Tell” Sharp Nine cd I believe this is their first as an outfit, sounding quite appropriate after the Harrell disc.
  16. Starting off a deliciously cool morning with some cool and sophisticated music . . . sounding so so good. Tom Harrell “Prana Dance” High Note cd Wayne Escoffrey and Johnathan Blake are so good here, as always.
  17. Don't have the box but do have almost all of the music on it on seperate releases.
  18. If you have the Google translate app you could use Google Lens to translate. I do that now with all my Japanese cd’s and it’s great to be finally able to read those liners I never got into those later albums. The one on Impulse! I do enjoy a lot is the Village Vanguard concerts. Now spinning:
